A magical world comes alive after sunset on this one-of-a-kind bioluminescent paddleboard and kayak tour. From May through September, during Florida’s warmest months, the calm waters of the Banana River begin to shimmer with millions of glowing dinoflagellates—tiny organisms that illuminate the water with every movement. We launch from Kiwanis Island Park, a peaceful wildlife sanctuary in Merritt Island just minutes from Cocoa Beach and about an hour from Orlando. Surrounded by mangroves, calm water, and abundant nature, this hidden gem offers an unforgettable setting for your nighttime adventure.

As darkness settles in, the glow intensifies. Every paddle stroke lights up the water in neon blue-green, while fish darting below leave sparkling trails and the gentle motion of manatees or dolphins ignites radiant bursts of light.
