One of the best museums, a must-visit in NYC! •Went here initially on a Wednesday, days after the snowstorm and it was closed. No announcement online but there was a signage on the entrance. •Returned to finally see the Met and it was totally worth it!! Amazing collections and interactive displays! •An absolute treasure. Two million objects, 5,000 years of history, and enough to fill a dozen visits. •The Egyptian Wing, European paintings, and rooftop garden alone make it worth the trip. Wear comfortable shoes, arrive early on weekends, and don’t try to see it all — just pick a few wings and enjoy. One of the best museums in the world. •Staff are very kind and helpful. •Clean, well-maintained areas.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Met, is truly an extraordinary place and one of the most impressive museums in the world. Every lover of history, art, and culture should make it a priority to visit this iconic landmark. From the moment you step inside, you immediately sense the scale and significance of what surrounds you. The museum is not just a building filled with objects — it is a journey through centuries of human civilization. The space is thoughtfully divided into geographical and cultural areas, allowing visitors to travel across continents and eras in a single visit. You can explore ancient Greece and admire classical sculptures and pottery, then move on to the fascinating world of ancient Egypt, where monumental statues, intricate jewelry, and even a reconstructed temple transport you thousands of years back in time. The American Wing showcases the artistic and historical development of the United States, while the European galleries present masterpieces of painting, sculpture, and decorative arts from different periods. Beyond these major sections, The Met offers countless additional collections, from arms and armor to musical instruments, from Asian art to medieval artifacts. Each room has its own atmosphere, and every corridor reveals something unexpected. It is easy to lose track of time as you move from one exhibition to another, constantly discovering new details and stories. One important piece of advice: be prepared. There is simply no realistic way to see everything in one day. The museum is vast, and rushing through it would mean missing much of what makes it special. It is better to choose a few sections that interest you most and explore them properly. Ideally, you would return more than once. A visit to The Met is not just sightseeing — it is an experience that broadens perspective and deepens appreciation for human creativity and history.

While many of the areas were closed off during the winter, I enjoyed their curation for the lunar New Year celebration. Many of the v volunteer members and children dressed up in traditional Chinese wear. In particular, I'm grateful towards the Chinese scroll explanation and references for the national Palace museum in Taipei. Much of the other exhibits were geared towards children, but fun nonetheless The usual half floors remain empty and are a great spot for some quiet time
