Step into the heart of Old Town and uncover a side of Stockholm filled with gripping stories, hidden corners, and echoes of a distant age. This guided walk leads you through the narrow lanes and ancient passages where executioners once lived and where dramatic tales shaped the city’s past. As you wander through the German quarter and slip into the narrow passage of Marten Trotzig, the rich world of medieval Stockholm slowly comes to life. You will hear about shocking murders, a scandalous marriage that drew in the archbishop, and the chilling events of the famous blood bath. Every street name and every stone whispers clues about what once stood here, inviting you to discover the truth beneath your feet.
Your journey continues through places where history still sleeps untouched, including a visit to the Rose Gate, the oldest surviving gate in the city. Here you will see remnants from long ago that still hold the stories of those who walked these paths. With each step, you unravel more of the hidden life behind the walls and learn how the city grew from its medieval heart into the lively place it is today. This walk offers a richer understanding of Old Town, blending atmosphere and storytelling for a memorable and meaningful experience.

Such an amazing and unique tour experience! Alex's passion really shines through and makes for a fun, interactive, and educational experience. I even got the honor of carrying the viking shield! Can't recommend this enough!!

Update Sep 25: I joined Alex walking tour for the 3rd & 4th time now and it was so much fun again 😍. He added some new little small details and it never gets boring, since its a co-creating experience. Also he is adapting the story into a stage performance that will be performed throughout Europe. Can't wait to see this 🙏🏼. Jun 25: My fav walking tour ever 😍. I attended the tour last summer and now again & it was again amazing. Alex is a true viking and a great tourleader. He told us about the viking history in Scandinavia & played a lot of role-playing games with us, and it was a lot of fun. Great entertainment with a lot of knowledge about the Vikings. Can't wait to be back 🥰.

A must when you are in Stockholm!! Alex is one of the best storytellers I’ve had in a tour. He made the whole thing fun, joked with several of us on the tour to keep us engaged and he was very good at making sure no random people joined the tour-which some tour guides certainly don’t notice!! Lots of facts, history and a great walk around the old town. Everything was great. Good duration too. Thank you

The Viking Raid (tour) was a lot of fun. Alex took a lot of time to show us around the old city centre while explaining a huge amount of details about going viking and other historical (fun) facts. I’d highly recommend this walk!

I booked this tour so my son and I could learn more about Stockholm but picked this one so he wouldn’t be bored (he is a 6th grader). I expected some fun stories and a lot of personality. I did not expect all of that AND someone able to talk about how our ideas of Vikings are constructed, in large part to serve 19th-century nationalism. As a history PhD, this made me happy my son was getting such a thoughtful perspective while being amused at the same time. My son knows I write reviews for everything so i asked him at the end what he would rate it and he said 5 and also that he knew I would rate it five stars as well. In short, this tour is both amusing and thought-provoking. Suggest booking before you arrive, especially if you are only in Stockholm for a few nights . He takes donations at the end—cash or he does have a credit card reader 🙂the one carrying the shield is my son, and it includes a pic of the coin he earned for his hard work 😀
