Really nice beach. Faces east so very protected. Nice sized car park, which I imagine isn't sufficient in summer, as is the way. Coffee hut above the beach and a.beach shower, which I wish all Irish swim sports had, but are very rare. No significant tidal current that I could discern but the reefs 400metre to the SW of the beach are prone to catching any tiny fraction of swell, even if they look flat from the beach. From east (far) side of beach, 1250 metres swimming to outside of Baginbun Head, expert swimmers only, no exits, no interesting caves. Typical one metre swell even on calm days. Public portaloo toilets at top of car are a fantastic resource for east side of Hook Head. Wexford CoCo & Feathard on sea should be commented on their excellent upkeep.

Positives: Lifeguard, Caves, Great waves, water stays in and quite high from the minute you step into the water, lovely sandy beach, feels secluded portaloos and coffee dock at top of ramp. Negatives: waves carry in stones, pebbles and rocks so it can be rough, plenty of seaweed, steep ramp allows access so you need to be mobile as you've to carry your picnic etc down this ramp to the beach.

Lovely, clean, long beach for walking, lots of shells on the shore, the kids had a great time picking out the prettiest of them, a borrow/play/return box on the beach contains a good array of items for building castles etc for those who make an unscheduled visit or for those who forgot theirs, I love that. Toilets nearby, the village is tidy with a great playground, the Only possible downfall is there isn't much parking, some cars parked on the beach,

Gets the sun, fabulous small beach and sun trap! 19 min drive from Ralph Road in Fethard. Kayaking available to hook in beach.

We loved playing on the beach. It was a chilly day, so got coffee at the nearby shop and sipped while our children played. Enjoyed the scenery and a great spot for paddle boarding and exploring. Parking is limited, so get there early. Public bathroom at the back of the car park, changing rooms for kayakers or paddle boarders, attached cafe for coffee and ice cream, plus a shower to rinse off sand before you return to your car. It is a chilly spot, so plan accordingly!
