Just got back from a week long stay here. We lead a group of 56 Shriners. Our room had a great view of the ocean and beach. Was clean and well serviced. Check in with a large group was very easy. Food was very good. Ate at the buffet, steak, Asian, and Italian. Lunch was also served at the pool. Never had a bad meal. Staff was very nice and had no problem. Black sand beach was easy to walk on in the mornings and evenings. I would highly recommend this resort.
Overall our stay was great. We felt like the buffet quality overshadowed some of the restaurants. Food quality was great. This is sold as a 5 star hotel, but rooms definitely aren't sadly. Our room door was kind of nasty, and i didn't dare sit on the sofa in the room since it looks pretty dirty. Bartenders and drinks were good
Had a fantastic time at Riu Playa Blanca. The food was amazing! I highly recommend this resort. Maricruz, one of the servers at the Buffet was exceptional. She always went above and beyond. She surprised me with a nice cake for my birthday during breakfast. I had the best time! Thank you Riu Family for everything!
We had a great time at this resort. The food was very good with a nice variety, and there were plenty of activities and entertaining shows, you really can’t get bored here! The staff were welcoming and friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The common areas were clean and well maintained. The only downside was our room, which felt a bit outdated and in need of renovation, especially the bathroom. Other than that, everything else was wonderful, and we truly enjoyed our time here.
I've been to plenty reviews, but this by far was my worst experience from the dirty linen bugs in the room, dirty towels. The staff was pleasant but I must say my overall experience was a three out of 10 they only play Latino music to cater to the Spaniards, who are visiting. I stayed on the resort from Thursday to Tuesday and I was ready to go by day two it is so far from everything and they only have one private overprice taxi to service to take you off the resort they will literally charge you over $40 for both ways to go to the surrounding areas. Do not pick this location if you are a person who wants to sightsee the actual culture you are so far from everything that it is impossible to leave the resort in order to have a good time. They also only use one service for excursions so if you are traveling and trying to enjoy an activity, you have to wait until they have a minimum of five people to book. It was an overall inconvenience I wasted two days just for someone to book an excursion, to be able to enjoy the country. Also, they don't have a spa. It's outdoors under a cheap canopy. Also, this resort is kid friendly, but the adult only side doesn't really cater to the adults. The music was terrible. The phone party never happened. The live shows were decent, but once again, mostly Latino music also, the food was actually really good so that's why I'm giving two stars because I was pleasantly surprised that the food for an all inclusive was this good.
