Set out on a peaceful and rewarding mountain walk as your guide leads you through the scenic beauty of the Sierra Blanca. This gentle adventure reveals wide open views, fresh mountain air, and a colourful landscape filled with natural charm. As you move along the trail, you will learn engaging stories about the region’s past, its rich plant life, and the wildlife that calls these mountains home. Every turn offers something new, from soft forest paths to impressive viewpoints that stretch across the coast and surrounding peaks.
One of the most memorable moments of the walk is your visit to the quiet remains of an old hermitage tucked deep into the mountains. This tranquil place once offered shelter to monks who lived in peaceful isolation, and local people from Marbella would make the journey here to seek guidance and reflection. The route also reveals hidden details such as a small historic mine cart that hints at the area’s early iron mining days. A narrow rocky passage equipped with safety chains adds a touch of excitement, and your guide will lead you safely and confidently through this short section.

Great experience & great fun! It was good value & well worth the money for a guided tour with Martin - he was awesome, funny & defo eased our nerves when jumping off the rocks! Would 100% recommend for a fun day out!

Our canyoning trip on the Guadalmina River was organized perfectly from start to finish. Everything we needed was provided, from safety gear to clear instructions, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. The adventure itself was a fantastic mix of swimming, jumping, sliding, and rappelling, all surrounded by breathtaking canyon scenery. The route felt safe yet exciting, with options for everyone, whether you wanted to push your limits or just enjoy the natural beauty. A special thank you goes to our guide, Vera, whose energy, patience, and professionalism made the day even more memorable. She encouraged us through the challenging parts while making sure we all had fun. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Marbella who is looking for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.

We met at a carpark near the canyon (accurate details are provided by Marbella Adventures via google maps) and met up with our fellow canyoners and guide Brenda. We got kitted out with our safety gear including helmets & bum protector (runners are provided if you don't have your own). Life jackets are provided for children. You are required to be a good swimmer as some of the stretches of river are deep and longish. If in any doubt, get a lifejacket. Following a 20 minute hike up to the start point we entered a water pool to cool down and were then briefed by our guide Brenda. After a quick (optional!) jump into a deep pool, we then set off down the river canyon. Good mobility is required as the rocks are wet & slippy. Along the way down there were several more jumps (optional!) & slides which were enjoyable. There are loads of small frogs & colourful dragonflies to see enroute. There are a few short swims towards the middle of the route finishing up with a long swim at the very end. We then had a short walk back to the car park. Overall it was a great 3 hour experience with our excellent guide Brenda who spoke fluent english & kept her eyes on everyone. The water temperature was about 25ºC (August) and quite comfortable with just swimming togs & a rash vest. Younger children may be more comfortable with a short-sleeved wetsuit (provided). Highly recommended.

This morning I went on this canyon tour with my family (the kids are 13 and 9). There were several other families with children, and we had fantastic guidance from Vera. She explained everything well beforehand. And during the tour she gave excellent instructions, allowing us to enjoy the beautiful scenery without any worries. Vera is also very sociable and highly recommended! This tour is a must if you're staying near Marbella or the surrounding area. Away from the swimming pools, beach, shopping malls and back to nature :)

This was the highlight of our time in Marbella!! My family and I did the 3-hour river walk with Martin as our guide and he was amazing! The pace was perfect, not too fast and not too slow. Martin was so nice to help my mom during the longer swimming portions. Highly recommend doing all the jumps!! Also very convenient that they provide all the gear and GoPro pictures and videos! I will definitely do this again when I come back to Marbella. Thank you Martin!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the backflip!

A perfect activity during your vacation. Beautiful views and a kind guide that explains a lot about the nature. Definitely recommend! Even if you are not sporty, it is still very doable and it’s a fun activity for your whole family! We saw a lot of kids during the hike as well.

It was great! In the beginning it is a bit of a tough climb, but this quickly decreases. You have a great view which makes the hike completely worth it! In addition, there is a super friendly tour guide who tells you a lot about the nature that you see around you. Definitely recommended!

What a great hike this was!! Many beautiful hiking trails and beautiful nature. The view was also breathtaking, where among other things Puerto Banus the sea and Marbella were clearly visible. Martin, the guide, knew a lot about the history of, among other things, the old monastery (which we encountered along the way) and certain plants and herbs. He had also organized a delicious tapas picnic for us. So great and tasty, in the middle of the forest.! In one word, a super good guide, and definitely worth repeating. I also found the (climbing) walk of 3 hours easy to do despite my age of 61 years. A real must for anyone who loves walking and nature.
