A true Anatolian gem in the heart of Istanbul. Everything here feels authentic — from the freshly baked bread that arrives puffed and warm, to the beautifully seasoned dishes full of flavor and care. The atmosphere is elegant but welcoming, with soft lighting and traditional décor that makes you want to stay for tea after dinner. I tried the lentil salad, the bread straight from the oven, and finished with baklava and Turkish tea — all perfectly done. Service was attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. Definitely a must-visit if you want to experience real Anatolian hospitality and taste.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely loved Food Palace in Istanbul! The food was incredibly authentic full of real Turkish flavor. I had the Iskandar Kebab, and it was just perfect: juicy, tender meat with rich tomato sauce, butter, and yogurt on the side. The traditional appetizers were fresh and full of taste, and the Baklava at the end with Apple tea was the perfect sweet finish. The staff were super polite and welcoming, especially Mr. Arjan, the manager such a gentleman and truly cares about his guests. You can feel the warmth and hospitality the moment you walk in. Definitely a 5-star experience can’t wait to go back!
Food Palace 1981 is amazing. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but it has a very authentic atmosphere and the staff is so inviting and friendly. This is a must add for your trip to Istanbul or if you are a local looking for new restaurant to frequent. Great for families, a date night, or a place to gather and eat with friends.
Arrived on a late flight into Istanbul and was looking for a great first meal while visiting Turkey. I saw Food Palace 1981 Anatolian Restaurant had great reviews and was only a few minutes walk from my hotel and open late. I ordered Chateaubriand (steak) that was recommended by the friendly waiter and it came out sizzling and the meat was so tender. Dipped in the sauces it was so delicious!!! It had sides of white rice, fries and bread. Paired with a delicious white wine it was a great first night in Istanbul! For a little desert there was a raspberry sorbet and baklava that hit my sweet tooth just right!! Very friendly staff. Overall a great first dining experience in Istanbul!!
We dropped in for dinner and had such a wonderful experience! We were seated quickly as soon as we walked in, and our drinks arrived shortly after. We enjoyed a lovely assortment of olives, tzatziki, and feta served with a big warm bread. The mixed pastry plate was all delicious. The highlight, though, was the mouthwatering lamb rib dinner — perfectly seasoned and so tender it fell right off the bone. And honestly, the service was fantastic. The baklava was also delicious. We’d definitely recommend!
