The experience begins with a transfer to Pontinha at 8:00 AM, where guests board the “Lobo Marinho” for a scenic boat trip across the Atlantic. Arrival in Porto Santo is scheduled for 10:30 AM, offering plenty of time to take in the stunning coastal views and enjoy the fresh sea breeze. Upon arrival, guests are transferred to explore the island, taking in its highlights and unique charm at a relaxed pace, before returning to the main island of Madeira.
After the island tour, guests reboard the “Lobo Marinho” for the return journey to Funchal, where a transfer back to the hotel ensures a seamless and comfortable end to the day. I had the pleasure of going Snorkeling with an incredible guide - Matias. The place, the experience and the fun I had will stay with me for sure! It was my first time ever snorkeling, but I was given all the needed equipment and the explanation on how to use each piece of equipment safely and comfortably. The water was calm and relatively shallow so it felt really safe. I was incredibly surprised at just how many different fishes and underwater creatures I encountered and how calmly they reacted to human presence. It was magical. During the whole tour you could feel the love Matias has for the nature and all the ocean critters we encountered. I left the experience with fantastic photos and even better memories. A must-go while in Porto Santo!
Must do snorkel tour!! LOVED it! We got to see an octopus, all types of fish and different rocks! Tour was safe and Matias was an expert guide! Explained everything, took awesome photos and has a love for the ocean and helping his guests get to appreciate this protected area of water!

Last week we (a family of four, with 19 year old and 16 year old sons) went on a tour with Matias and his Portuguese Water Dog Sherlock. It really was AMAZING. We spent 11 days in Madeira, and this day with Matias and Sherlock was the absolute highlight of our vacation. I am very nervous in the water, but felt fully relaxed on this tour. The water was shallow and it was reassuring to me to know that, if needed, I could always stand on my feet. This shallow water did not mean that it was 'boring' for the boys. They are much more adventurous than I am and they also had an amazing time, also for them this was the best day in our vacation. During the snorkeling we saw a lot of colourful fishes, a fireworm, a bright red starfish and octopuses. The best part of the snorkeling was when the octopus touched my hand. Matias also made some very impressive pictures during the snorkeling and sent them to us after the tour. After the snorkeling, Matias showed us some of the best places of Porto Santo and told us some great stories about Porto Santo. If you are also nervous about snorkeling but would like to do some snorkeling with your family, then this is the perfect tour for you. Also if you're not nervous about snorkeling at all, but want to see some beautiful fish and octopuses in a beatiful surrounding then this is also the perfect tour for you. I would recommend this tour to everyone. If we will ever return to Madeira and/or Porto Santo then I would definitely book a tour with Matias and Sherlock again!
