This journey begins at the Portela viewpoint where sweeping views reveal the coastline of Porto da Cruz and Faial framed by the striking presence of Penha d Aguia. From this high vantage point the route leads into the forest road of Serra das Funduras, an area that shelters the ancient Laurissilva Forest recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site. As you travel deeper into this protected landscape the scenery transforms into a living tapestry of towering trees, lush slopes and vibrant natural textures shaped over centuries.
Moving through the heart of this forest offers a rare chance to witness the rich ecosystem that defines Madeira. The melodic sounds of native birds blend with the cool forest air while the trail unfolds through pockets of untouched nature that feel almost otherworldly. Along the way there are peaceful spots that invite you to pause and absorb the serene atmosphere before continuing toward Casa das Funduras, a charming rural house dedicated to forest stewardship. The final section of the trail brings thrilling terrain challenges that make this route both engaging and unforgettable.

Just want to start by saying a lot of the reviews here that are 1* are from 5 or 6 years ago, so definitely not up to date. We were just a group of 2 yesterday that visited and we had a brilliant day. Joe was great, made us feel very welcome and the day itself was a lot of fun! Might not offer a ton of facilities, but you're not in Monaco lads. You get plenty of time on the track, and its competitive! I'd highly recommend, if you have any doubts because of the reviews - don't think about them and take the chance, you won't regret it. A chilled day and something different to do, only 20mins from Dublin. I'll be back 👍🏼 Cheers Joe for a great day!

Great morning in the buggies this morning! The 4 of us had great craic! We usually race cars and go karts but said we'd try something different and it didnt disappoint! The buggies arent super powerful but were well capable of sliding around corners! Will definitely be back! Joe was a pleasure to deal with and gave us plenty of track time! The winner even got a bottle of champers to celebrate 😂

Very bad, staff very disrespectful to me charged me for extra laps and cut me off said I was going to fast into the corners never heard anything like it on a 620cc buggy told us the wrong time and didnt give us the hovercraft after driving for 2 and s 1/2 hours. Wouldn't ever go near the place again horrible day, bad staff, one of the buggies broke down so they made us race in twos🤮. The lad who was driving the buggy that broke down after 1 lap wasn't aloud go again so he payed 50 euro for a lap So so bad.

Good craic and a very relaxed atmosphere. We got loads of time on the track and there is enough power in the buggies to spin them on a dry day. Got this as a Christmas gift, glad because I would have been put off by the bad reviews and I would have missed out on a great experience. I’m only giving it four stars as they could put some money into the waiting area side of things, on the whole I’d highly recommend!

The Rage buggies themselves were a fantastic bit of craic. Well worth trying. The lads running it, however, are a little bit cheeky so beware - hence why I've given them only 2 stars. Booked in 10 people for a stag. Did this well in advance, paid our deposit, and everything was fine. But when we got there, we were told that there weren't enough buggies for everyone and that 2 people would need to share. However, the only reason that 2 people from the group needed to share was because they gave one of the buggies to some guy who seemed to be a regular there. So essentially, there were 10 of us and him. A little bit cheeky seeing as I'd already paid the deposit and everything - not the best way to start a stag. Otherwise, it a decent afternoon but the off-road title is a little bit misleading because the track is just tarmac and the buggies were less powerful than expected. I would guess that 20 - 25 km/h was the maximum speed rather than what was suggested on the website!
