Embark on a two-day journey to explore the most majestic archaeological sites of the Peloponnese. On the first day, we'll start by visiting the iconic Canal of Corinth, a marvel of engineering that connects the Aegean and Ionian seas. From there, we will continue to the ancient site of Corinth, once a powerful city-state, where you can explore its historical ruins. We will then visit the legendary Mycenae, home to the ancient Mycenaean civilization and its famous Lion Gate. After these fascinating visits, we will spend the night in Delphi, known for its sacred significance in Greek history. You will have free time in the evening to explore the town or enjoy leisure activities.
On the second day, we will head to the historical city of Sparta, a place known for its warrior culture. Next, we will visit the stunning ruins of Mystras, a Byzantine city perched on a hillside, where you’ll be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the castle and surrounding landscape. Our final destination before returning to Athens will be the Sacred Forest of Ancient Olympia, built on the northern riverbank of the Alfeios River. This ancient site was once home to the Olympic Games, and its tranquil surroundings make it a fitting end to our journey.
