Fantastic Half-Day Athens Tour with an Amazing Driver! We recently booked the half-day tour of Athens with lunch included, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. A special thank you goes to our driver, Dallas. He was incredibly friendly and so knowledgeable about Athens' history. He shared fascinating stories and insights that really brought the city to life for us. We learned so much and truly enjoyed our day exploring the ancient sites. The lunch was also a lovely addition. We highly recommend this tour, and especially Dallas, for anyone visiting Athens!
This tour was a lot of fun. Our guide, Dimitris Tabone, was very accommodating and made the best of a mid tour thunderstorm! We still saw most of the highlights, and got a lot of information about Athens and the monuments. We had lunch at a delightful cafe (owned by the tour company) with delicious Greek specialties and wine. We would definitely recommend this tour!
We very much enjoyed our tour today with Marsel to Meteora, Thermoplyae and Delphi. He was very informative regarding all the sites which are a must see as they are amazingly beautiful! The Mercedes Benz was a very comfortable ride. Marsel was able to answer all our questions regarding Athens and Greece. We definitely recommend this tour!
Avoid this—there are so many better ways to see the city at a fraction of the cost. This was basically a car rental with some basic storytelling between stops for $400 for a half day. You could recreate the same and better experience by taking 5 uber rides and downloading Rick Steves audio guides for about $75 instead. Worst part was the included lunch which was a 30 minute ride out of the city to a HORRIBLE restaurant where they served pre-packaged deserts and just dropped random food on the table. Instead go to an authentic place in downtown, of which there are literally hundreds to pick from.
Our driver Panos was an excellent driver, very knowledgeable and engaging at all the right times. The history and pride in Greece culture is so evident.
Our tour guide Christoss was so knowledgeable and accommodating. He is highly recommended. We had a wonderful time during our trip and it’s worth what we paid for.
All of our experience with Theodores Travel were phenomenal. We used them for a day trip and for airport transfer services. Our guide, George Ilios made our day! It was an incredible day trip to Meteora and Delphi with the perfect amount of time at each destination. He was on time, on top of everything at each stop, shared a bunch of great context and history heading to each location, and took wonderful care of us. The lunch and dinner spots were absolutely delicious and were locations where locals go. I’m not quite sure why you’re still reading this review as you should already be booking your visit with George and Theodores travel! It was a major highlight of our trip. Theodores Travel also handled some transfers for us and they were super reliable and helpful. Can’t say enough good things! Book them now!
It’s a long day , but one of the best days we’ve had here. Ted was our driver and guide. He was prompt, professional and made sure we were comfortable the entire trip. He was very knowledgeable about each site and knew how to make the best use of our time so we could see everything. This was our 12th day in Greece and are leaving in two days. We had an exceptional experience today with a full-day tour led by George. From 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., we visited Meteora, Delphi, and the Thermopylae site, and it was an unforgettable journey. George was outstanding—polite, punctual, and incredibly knowledgeable. He provided detailed explanations during our travels between sites and was always patiently waiting for us. To top off our amazing day, we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at a Greek restaurant, where we were treated to a true local experience. The meal was incredible, with a variety of plates, meats, and everything you would expect from the best of Greek cuisine, accompanied by wine and beer. At the end of the trip, we received a thoughtful souvenir from the company, which we really, really appreciate. We are deeply grateful to George for making this day so special. The company also provided a spacious Mercedes van, which we found extremely comfortable, with excellent air conditioning. George’s driving was impeccable, handling everything from highways to winding mountain roads with remarkable skill.
