The PADI Open Water Diver course is the first level of scuba certification and provides the foundation for a lifetime of underwater exploration. Taught by a highly trained PADI Instructor, the course is designed to be relaxed and supportive, giving you the confidence to learn at your own pace. You’ll start by studying scuba diving principles and terminology online, then progress to practicing essential scuba skills in a pool under the guidance of your instructor. Once you’re ready, you’ll make four ocean dives with full instructor support, applying your skills in a real-world environment and experiencing the thrill of exploring marine life firsthand.
By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and skills to dive safely at home or abroad, and you’ll become an ambassador for the underwater world. The course teaches you to assemble and use scuba gear correctly, manage buoyancy, approach marine life responsibly, and handle common problems that may arise while diving. This certification is suitable for anyone aged 10 and above who is able to swim, complete a 200-meter swim, tread water for 10 minutes, and is medically fit and in good physical health. With these skills, you’ll be prepared to explore underwater environments confidently and safely.
