A big thanks to all the team in Biking.ie. We had an amazing time. While we had our own bikes up in Balinastoe our friends visiting from abroad hire some of the hard tail Mtb’s for both their kids and their adult selves. Such an amazing place, it blew their minds how good the trails were, the selection for all levels and the availability of really well maintained and high end bikes to cater for the needs of a high end pro to a novice. The pricing was very fair for such great equipment and the fact the trail centre doesn’t cost anything to ride those berms and what seemed like a beautiful bobsleigh track made it a really inexpensive activity for such a meaningful and fun experience. Because the trail design and surface is so good, even in the wet in winter it felt dry as no puddles can sit on the trails. It’s a must do for visitors or friends coming into town looking for something amazing to do. The Biking.ie staff were excellent.( thanks Brian and Katie) The bikes, instruction and helmet fitting and the great coffee, hot chocolate, toasties and cake at the end. Kind and very professional . The trails were really well market also. Hot tip, take a small detour on the way to the top to see the Lake at Guinness estate at Luggala( 5 mins detour up top). So pleased we could bring our friends to Ballinastoe trail centre. 10/10 experience. Well done again biking.ie.
One of the best mountain biking experiences. Trails were just redone in 2023 and they are smooth and flowy. We visited Ireland in March and now going back in November, the forest is gorgeous, and the people are so kind and friendly. Nice to have locals strike up conversation with us at the trail head cafe, which by the way has very tasty, toasted sandwiches, soup, Irish bread and hot cocoa after a fun day riding.
This was so much fun! We came just before they closed but they were still super friendly and helpful. Their equipment is awesome and instructions were given clearly and patiently. The locale is gorgeous and the trails are clearly marked and so much fun. I went with my kids 9 &13 and they had a blast. The 9 year old was barely big enough for the small bike and we did walk for a short bit of the course. The regulars on the trails were also super fun and kind. Such a great experience, my son would love to go again right now if I'd let him- we're trying to see some more of Dublin otherwise I'd say yes. 😀
Really loved my experience renting here. The vitus bikes are decent rentals, but our mechanic, Dave, took great care of us, had all the bikes sitting out and ready when we arrived. He gave us a good detailing of the trails. The trails themselves are phenomenal. Very well maintained and built with the rider in mind. If you're biking in Ireland, this is definitely a must do. There's also a good array of difficulty levels for all abilities.
We rented mountain bikes from here a while ago and had a blast exploring the beautiful Wicklow Mountains on are Ireland vacation. Are family is all different levels of riders from people that hardly ride to very frequent riders. The trails we did here were mostly gravel and there was some climbing involved but wasn’t too different. There is trails for every level of rider here. The staff here was very friendly and helpful, they gave us all the info we needed and told us which trails were the best for us to do as a group for our desires. We were all very happy and thought it was one of our favourite parts of the trip and we would do it again if back in the area.
