Bamburgh and Lindisfarne have been home to human settlements since prehistory, shaping the story of Northumbria across centuries. Considered the cradle of English Christianity, the monastery on the island played a central role in religious life during the Dark Ages. This tour adjusts its timing to safely cross the tidal causeway to Lindisfarne and returns to include the village of Bamburgh, where visitors can explore St. Aiden’s Church and its Ossuary, both offering fascinating insights into the area’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
