Very beautiful. We arrived around 9.30 in the morning, the crowds were very manageable and we could see plenty of the Abbey. Past noon it started to get noticeably busier, but by that time we were done anyways and went home. Yes it is busy. Yes it is beautiful. Yes it is a must-see.

Legendary & Iconic Cathedral This is a must visit for all history & or Architectural fans. This place is very unique in the world and is a must see site. It is not so difficult to get too but of course you have to check the timing of the tides, etc. Once you are here expect to climb a bit. Specially if you want to visit the church. This place is beautiful and is one of the highlight of your visit to France. Try too the local food is is absolutely fabulous!

Even after finalising the itinerary, I always keep one or two days extra whenever I visit any place. Because you may 'discover' something interesting later that you may want to visit 😎. Mont Saint Michael was one such place that I 'discovered' when I was in Paris. The visit to the Mont took the whole day (12 hours), but it was worth it. 😊 I had booked the day tour with the 'Paris City Vision' tour company. And everything about this Fairytale Castle on a tidal, magical, holy island turned out to be awesome.....a perfect blend of natural and man made beauty. From the car parking area, which was about 2.5 km from the walkway bridge to the Castle, shuttle buses were available, although you can walk all the way if you want. Carrying an umbrella did help ☂️ as it was hot and sunny. During the French Revolution, the Castle was nationalized, and monks who had settled here as early as 966 CE were expelled. The Castle also served as a prison for some time. However, after the celebration of 1000 years of its foundation, some monks again moved in and started residing in the Castle. So there does exist a very small French commune here; with a mayor, priest, postman, and police ! The bay of Mont Saint Michael, covering an area of about 500 square km, boasts of the highest tides in Europe, and those who want to experience the tides can plan their visits accordingly. Be prepared to climb lots of stairs. The steep winding street of the Castle is lined with many shops and restaurants, so don't forget to taste the classic Mere Poulard omelet here 😋.

A dream come true experience. The Abby is worth going for the first time, personally won’t go inside again, too narrow and small, had to wait at many stops because of the crowds. The outside view is much more impressive, especially from the cross path bridge. Take a walk on the sandbank is a cool experience as well. No wonder this is the second most visited attractions in France. Half day is enough though.

Wonderful place! The architecture is amazing and impressive. Visiting it is worth every penny. You’ll pay €20 for 3 hours of parking – that sounds like a lot, but it includes a shuttle bus to the island (there and back) and the entrance fee. Prices in the village itself are nearly double compared to the rest of the area – for example, a fridge magnet usually costs up to €4, but here it’s almost €8. As for the visit, make sure to plan at least 4 hours if you want to go all the way to the top. There are a loooot of stairs!
