December • Craft of the Month: Christmas Slate Gilding

Celebrate creativity this festive season with our Slate Gilding Crafternoon, where you can transform a simple slate coaster into a stunning work of art. Using painterly techniques with metal leaf adhesive, you will learn how to create gilded designs in gold, silver, and bronze. Beginners can enjoy abstract designs while those with more experience can explore illustrative styles. Each participant receives guidance from the Debbie Bryan team along with a ten centimetre round or square slate coaster, imitation metal leaf, brushes, adhesive, and an illustrative design sheet to inspire creativity. Additional chalky paint can be used for more detailed designs, and our Gold Leaf Craft Kits offer a perfect way to continue the experience at home. Our Crafternoons can be combined with a variety of hospitality options to enhance the experience. Choose from a simple tea or coffee with a chocolate fudge brownie, indulge in a cream tea with homemade scones and specialty tea, or enjoy a full afternoon tea with freshly prepared finger sandwiches and cakes. For those preferring grazing options, savoury and sweet platters are also available. Bookings that include Afternoon Tea or Grazing Platters allow two and a half hours, beginning with the craft session unless requested otherwise. We recommend keeping hospitality and Crafternoon options consistent for your table, though mixed packages can be requested in advance and will be accommodated where possible.
