We will begin our journey with a short drive of 15 kilometers east from Ha Noi to the famous Bat Trang Village, renowned for its exquisite ceramics. As we wander through the narrow alleys of this ancient village, you will witness local artisans shaping clay into elegant works of art. Each home doubles as both a workshop and a gallery, filled with beautifully crafted ceramics in a variety of shapes, colors, and designs. This is the perfect opportunity to learn about traditional Vietnamese pottery-making and perhaps even try your hand at creating your own piece.
After exploring Bat Trang, we continue to Dong Ho Village, celebrated for its traditional hand-printed folk paintings. Every artwork is made using age-old methods, with natural colors extracted from plants, bamboo, and rice powder. You’ll have the chance to visit a local artist’s house, observing the intricate process that gives each painting its unique charm and meaning. Following a delightful local lunch, we will head to But Thap Pagoda, one of the oldest and most important Buddhist centers in Vietnam. The pagoda stands as a masterpiece of 17th-century architecture, famed for its detailed wood carvings and the awe-inspiring statue of Buddha with a thousand hands and eyes. After soaking in the beauty and tranquility of this spiritual site, we will make our way back to Ha Noi, concluding a memorable cultural journey.

It’s an artistic place with a lot of things to offer. There’s a museum inside that you can visit. It’s such a good experience! Really recommend this place

I got to and from here by bus easily from the Old Quarter. The diverse selection of ceramics from small artisans blew me away. I even got to try a hands on class for only 100,000 dong. Ultimately, I got a large plate for a whole fish and some cute ceramic turtle for 280,000 in total. What a steal… 💡📚Learn Vietnamese or English 1-1 with an 8.5 IELTS, American graduate teacher who worked in New York with TESOL certificate at @marialinguist

This whole village is amazing and the museum and light show is next level with incredible displays of workmanship and creative displays. The guide we had for the informative museum walk was very friendly and welcoming with lovely English. A walk through the village will facinate you and the prices are all very reasonable. This is almost underrated and hidden. Definitely worth going!

This location is very out of the way for most people visiting Hanoi on a shorter stay. However it has its own vibes and artistic flair. With almost every house in the area having something to do with pottery. It is great if you want to get some quality pottery at what felt like fair prices. Also pottery making is good fun also. The main reason this gets 3 stars is the location, it is very hard to get a grab back and also there is a lot of walking which can be hard for how hot it is in this area. Overall worth it if you have the time and want to take back pottery.

I did a day tour with Authentic Bat Trang pottery village. From making a pottery piece to take home, tour of 3 or 4 factories in Bat Trang and walking through the historic village. Authentic Bat Trang Pottery staff was outstanding. Located in the Old Quarter in Hanoi. Best tour I did in Hanoi!!! Very reasonable price I recommend buying tickets in advance to plan on pottery firing later after the tour. 1-2 days
