Well... You can not make this a positive review. It is awful what happened here. It is a pity this exists. This is sadly enough a must see in Vietnam. So, what happened? During the Vietnam War, the Americans needed to get the anger and fear tunneled to the Vietcong. So an angry officer lied and send 3 groups of military to this village. They were told, this whole village was Vietcong. The American soldiers got a license to kill all Vietcong. But this was a lie. There was no Vietcong. There where only locals. And so everybody was killed. Everybody. Woman, children, grandparents. All except 2. One was saved by laying beneath killed people, acting died. And one was saved by an American helicopter pilot, which recognised this was no Vietcong. He stepped in and stopped the killing. A sad sad sad moment in human history. It is good we remember this and try to prevent it from happening again.

Do not waste money with tour packages, take a taxi, and entrance fee is 80 cents usd, or 20000 vnd. This is a great place to go see, takes about an hour.

Definitely worth a visit, it is difficult not to be moved and it is important to know and remember the atrocities of war, in which so many innocent people, including young children, suffer and die for the sins of others.

Absolutely worth the visit. A combination of photos and art on the site of Son My. A good reminder of the mindless brutality of humans. I wish that this was the last massacre but we know that it's not.

well presented by tour guide who was knowledgeable on location and sites on way to and from Son My area.

The trio was long with one stop at a pig market. The My Lai site is a must see and very moving. The lunch stop was at the dirtiest chicken restaurant and served chicken guts, boiled chicken and rice. The food was prepared on the floor outside the toilet with dogs and cats walking around. The best part of the meal was the pickled onions. The tour guide doesn’t talk much so beware. I would not recommend Hoi an express for this tour. Avoid at all costs. The guide also drinks beer at lunch.
