Embark on a cultural journey through Hoi An’s traditional craft villages, where history and artistry come together in a charming riverside setting. Begin with a scenic 30-minute boat ride along the Thu Bon River to Kim Bong Carpentry Village, a historic community founded in the 15th century by skilled artisans from northern Vietnam. Here, you will discover the art of traditional shipbuilding and fine woodcraft as local craftsmen carve intricate furniture and sculptures using time-honored techniques passed down through generations. The rhythmic sound of chisels and the scent of freshly cut wood create a nostalgic atmosphere that reflects Hoi An’s proud craftsmanship heritage.
Continue your journey to Thanh Ha Pottery Village, renowned for over 500 years of pottery-making tradition. Watch skilled potters shape clay into elegant vases, pots, and household items by hand. Visit the fascinating Thanh Ha Terra Cotta Park Museum, where miniature clay models of world-famous landmarks like the Taj Mahal, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Sydney Opera House are beautifully displayed. The tour concludes with a hands-on experience at a local lantern workshop, where you can learn the delicate craft of lantern making—a symbol of Hoi An’s charm and culture. This immersive tour offers a deep appreciation for Vietnam’s living heritage.

Hoi An Handicraft Tours offers an amazing lantern-making experience. It’s super fun, you make a beautiful souvenir, and the people teaching are really nice and funny. Totally recommend for a unique, out-of-the-ordinary activity!

Absolutely loved the coffee and lantern-making classes! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. The coffee really is strong - as we discovered while making five different varieties! Prices are very reasonable for the quality, and everyone goes out of their way to make sure you have a great time. Special shout-out to bad boy Sang for his excellent humor and impressive skills - he made the experience unforgettable!

Amazing afternoon with the team making lanterns. We were all overjoyed by the activity and the final lanterns. Super value. Super happy customer.

Vietnamese Culture and Coffee Making Class. This 2-hour experience is incredibly fun and educational. We are so glad we made time to do this while in Hoi An! From a talented and funny guide (with the support of family and intermittent musical backing), you learn how to make 5 classic Vietnamese coffees. The class is incredibly well-organized and the equipment is top notch. The pace of the class feels perfect and the 2 hours fly as you crate and enjoy the best of Vietnamese coffee. There is no pressure at all to purchase (in fact, they provide a free souvenir), but we were so compelled by the experienced that we purchased some of the family’s coffee to take home.

The lantern making and coffee experience were both so much fun! We were a group of 12 for the coffee experience (kids through grandparents) and we all loved it. We learned a ton about the different types of Vietnamese coffees and how to make them - they were all delicious! It is a very fun atmosphere - I highly recommend it! This was my second time doing lantern making with Hoi An Handicrafts (first time was two years ago during our first trip to Hoi An) and both visits were wonderful experiences. The staff is so kind and helpful - they can fix even the biggest of mistakes. Both kids and adults found the class to be fun, engaging, interesting, and relaxing - and we all left with our beautiful lanterns!

Excellent! Perfect English, historical facts well known, and a very kind man! Thank you, I highly recommend!

The tour was interesting but if possible don't book on Sundays as many craftsmen on the islands are closed.

I think the Japanese title should be [Half-day craft village tour by boat]. I'm glad that the English guide explained it in a very easy-to-understand manner. I think it would have been better if there were free time and breaks along the way.
