Must visit the ninh binh boat ride The caves are just a natural formation that cannot be missed

Thuong was our guide. He was very professional, informative and funny. We spent the entire day with him touring different sites and enjoyed each of them immensely. We visited old and new Buddhist temples, ate with a local family, travelled down the river on a tour of the caves and it was all magical. Appropriate for older and young people.

We had an excellent experience on the boat ride and the scenery was spectacular. Thoroughly enjoyed going through the caves and taking in the calm and beautiful scenery. Main down side was the huge number of tourists

Ninh binh is awesome , far from madding crowd, 'city' as well as remote country side fabulous, relax soak in the absolute peace....nice, Ha Long on road

Ninh Binh, often referred to as the "Halong Bay on land," is a charming and picturesque city located in northern Vietnam. This hidden gem offers a unique and serene experience that attracts tourists seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of larger cities like Hanoi. Here's a detailed account of the Ninh Binh experience: Natural Beauty: Ninh Binh is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, characterized by dramatic limestone karsts and lush green rice paddies. The region's landscape is truly breathtaking, with towering limestone formations that seem to rise out of nowhere, surrounded by winding rivers and emerald-green fields. The most famous spot to witness this beauty is Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can take a boat ride through a labyrinth of caves and rivers, all while being immersed in nature's grandeur. Tam Coc: Known as the "Halong Bay on land," Tam Coc offers a similar experience to Trang An but with a unique charm of its own. Here, you can take a leisurely rowboat trip along a river flanked by towering karst formations. The skilled local boatwomen use their feet to paddle, allowing you to fully appreciate the tranquil surroundings. However the boats are quite old and dirty, one may avoid. Historical and Cultural Sites: Ninh Binh is not just about natural beauty. It also boasts a rich history and culture. The Hoa Lu Ancient Capital is a historical site where you can explore ancient temples and learn about Vietnam's dynastic past. Additionally, the Bich Dong Pagoda, a complex of three temples carved into the mountain, provides a unique spiritual experience. Cuc Phuong National Park: If you're a nature enthusiast, Cuc Phuong National Park is a must-visit. It's one of Vietnam's first national parks and offers a range of trekking and wildlife-watching opportunities. The park is home to diverse flora and fauna, and you can even visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center to see conservation efforts in action. Peaceful Atmosphere: Ninh Binh is a small city that offers a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. You can escape the noise and crowds found in larger cities, making it an ideal destination for a peaceful getaway. The slower pace of life and friendly locals add to the overall sense of serenity. Cuisine: Difficult for vegetarians. Indian cuisines are really so good In conclusion, Ninh Binh is a hidden treasure that beckons travelers looking for both natural beauty and cultural richness. Spending a few days in this peaceful city is a must for anyone seeking a unique and serene escape in Vietnam. Whether you're exploring caves, hiking in the national park, or simply soaking in the breathtaking scenery, Ninh Binh offers an unforgettable experience that will leave you with cherished memories of its serene charm.

Very friendly , knowledgeable and helpful guide. Picked up at Hotel in brand new car with air conditioning. Brought directly to Hoa lua. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge throughout. Had a Vietnamese lunch which was plenty. Then an excellent boat trip on river at Tam Coc. This I think is a must do trip if you are staying in Hanoi. All tourist sites are very busy though
