Pick-up for your adventure will be from Porto da Cruz at the agreed-upon time, ensuring a smooth start to your hiking experience. For the self-guided hike from Achada do Teixeira to Pico do Areeiro, transport will take you from Porto da Cruz to the starting point of the PR1 and PR1.2 trails. Along these trails, you will encounter breathtaking mountain landscapes, including dramatic peaks, lush forests, and deep valleys. After completing the hike, you will be picked up at Pico do Areeiro and returned to Porto da Cruz, with the total duration of this option being approximately five hours, depending on your pace.
Alternatively, you can choose a transfer to the PR9 trail for the Levada do Caldeirão Verde hike. This option provides transport from Porto da Cruz to the trailhead, where you can enjoy one of Madeira’s most scenic levadas. The route takes you through verdant forests and culminates at the spectacular Caldeirão Verde waterfall. Once the hike is complete, pick-up is arranged at the trail’s end for a return journey to Porto da Cruz. This option typically lasts around five and a half hours, offering a full day of exploration and immersion in Madeira’s natural beauty.
