My husband, our 3-year-old son, and I had a very special experience with Nasir and his team. In our opinion, it was a more original and intimate way to experience the desert. We rode camels to the campsite, watched a beautiful sunset, and enjoyed a delicious couscous cooked over the campfire, accompanied by great conversation. The weather was perfect — pleasant temperature and no wind. We were even able to sleep without a tent under an incredible starry sky. Our son loved the adventure! Thank you so much, Nasir, for keeping this experience simple and meaningful.

Awesome desert experience. I was looking for something local and it has been very complete; the cammels, the knowledge about the desert life, the food (cooking coscous at night and bred the morning), the experience the guides hold on the desert and the care they take. I could not ask for more and may repeat sometime in the next years!

Our camel camping experience was a major highlight of our trip to Tunisia. I struggled for a long time to find a good camel experience in Douz online, but I’m very happy we landed on this one. Most desert camping experiences advertised in Douz are at big, fixed camps - kinda like outdoor hotels. I’ve done that in other countries and it’s fine, but it doesn’t feel at all like actually camping and the “camel trek” is really just a short ride for the novelty. Sleeping under the stars in a desert is one of my favourite ways to camp. Without morning dew or mosquitos, you can be outside without a stuffy tent. We trekked for 2 hours on camels to get to an isolated spot about 10km south of Douz, with a real feeling of being totally alone. The guides cooked a tasty dinner over the fire and we talked for hours. The owner is a Bedouin who grew up living nomadically in the desert until he was 9, then spent the rest of his childhood in Douz around camels. He’s one of the few people in the younger generation that’s interested in the Bedouin life and trying to keep those traditions alive. Spending an evening with him was a fascinating and genuine window into a very different way of life and the pressures on it from the outside world. Can’t recommend this experience enough.

Good experience with Nasir. We did one night camping and we had a great time. Food was great, Nasir was informative and accommodating. Camels well treated. He is someone who has genuinely lived his life with the Sahara in his soul and it is really nice to observe.

The camelride with the night out in the desert was a highlight in our Tunisia holidays. Nasir is a warm and open minded english-speaking guide, who taught us about the desert and bedouin culture. We really enjoyed our trip into the desert. Thanks.
