This extraordinary tour takes you deep into the hidden wonders of the Yucatán Peninsula, offering an experience that beautifully blends adventure, nature, and culture. At Río Secreto, you’ll explore the longest semi-flooded cave system in the region, a vast underground world that remains mostly untouched. With only a small portion of its 100-hectare reserve open to visitors, the experience feels intimate and exclusive. Guided by experts, you’ll walk and swim through crystal-clear waters surrounded by incredible stalactites, stalagmites, and rock formations that tell the story of the Earth’s ancient past. Every step reveals a breathtaking connection between geology and time, making this journey truly unique.
Before the exploration begins, you’ll take part in a traditional Mayan purification ceremony, setting the spiritual tone for your adventure. The serene atmosphere, combined with the natural beauty of the caves, creates a sense of harmony and reverence for this sacred space. Once your underground expedition concludes, you’ll celebrate with a toast of Xtabentún, a traditional Mayan liqueur, followed by a delicious buffet meal. This unforgettable experience offers the perfect balance of discovery, reflection, and celebration, leaving you with lasting memories of Yucatán’s mystical underground world.

Second time visiting Rio Secreto and it was just as good as the first. This time we did the plus option and the zip lines were a blast! Rapelling into the cave was super fun as well. Our guide David was fantastic and made it a real fun adventure for us and our kiddos.

Rio Secreto was hands down the highlight of my trip to Mexico! It’s honestly one of the most beautiful and surreal places I’ve ever seen. Walking and swimming through the crystal clear caves felt otherworldly. Our guide Gustavo was amazing, funny, patient, and made the experience feel really special. The photographs turned out fantastic I will just share a couple here. If you do one excursion while you’re in Mexico, make it this one. You won’t regret it.

The caves were so beautiful and our guide Felipe clearly loved his job and even answered my son’s million questions with pleasure. The food at the end was so-so. But the overall experience is so worth it, it’s a wonder of nature!

A hidden gem. This experience is a life-changing event. The natural wonder that is this cave and underground river are demonstrated beautifully by the wonderful team of tour guides, staff, and photographers. Shout out to Pato our photographer for taking his time to curate perfect romantic pictures of me and my wife. He truly went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. The beauty of the cave leaves one speechless. I can not put together enough adjectives to describe how mesmerizing. 11/10 recommend.

Secreto Rio was such a very cool experience. The underground cave system (not a cenote!) is absolutely stunning, and the whole adventure feels peaceful, magical, and well organized. Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable. The underground river and cave areas were very unique. The only downside (and why I didn’t give a full 5 stars) is that no cameras are allowed, and the photo package they sell is quite expensive. It’s a bit disappointing since you want to capture those memories, but it still doesn’t take away from how incredible the place is overall. The meal at the end was delicious too. Definitely worth visiting!
