Our two-hour guided walking tour of Montmartre, conducted entirely in German, takes you through the heart of Paris’s most artistic and enchanting district. From the iconic Moulin Rouge to the stunning Sacré-Cœur Basilica, you’ll experience the landmarks that have made Montmartre world-famous. The lively Place du Tertre, where artists still paint and sell their work, offers a glimpse into the district’s bohemian past and creative spirit. As you wander through cobblestone streets and charming cafés, your guide will bring the history and allure of Montmartre to life with engaging stories and fascinating details.
Beyond the well-known sights, the tour also reveals the quieter side of Montmartre — hidden alleyways, tucked-away gardens, and local gems that most visitors never find. Along the way, your German-speaking guide shares fun anecdotes, artistic legends, and insider tips that will deepen your appreciation for this unique neighbourhood. It’s an inspiring blend of culture, history, and authenticity — the perfect way to experience the true essence of Montmartre.

I had a truly wonderful guided tour of Montmartre with Maud – so much interesting information, insights into life in the neighborhood, and background information on the personalities who have lived there. The walking route wasn't particularly strenuous, and because of all the sights, you hardly noticed that you were going uphill or how quickly the time passed. As a group, we also took a look inside the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, which was a lovely end to our walk through Montmartre. I will definitely repeat the tour with Maud, this time with my wife, who couldn't join us due to illness!

Muriel and I visited the Montmartre district as a family. We had a wonderful time immersing ourselves in the history of the neighborhood, from its beginnings to the present day. From the artistic world to the bohemian lifestyle and the vineyards of today, our walk was very enjoyable for both adults and children, taking us off the beaten path.

We had an unforgettable time with our guide, Sauveur, in the charming streets of Montmartre, away from the crowds. He shared his love of history, numerous anecdotes, and his appreciation for art. We'll never look at a church the same way again! We were a family with young people aged 12, 15, and 21. Thank you to the Montmartre Guides and to Sauveur!

Claire provided us with a walking tour of Montmartre in August 2024. We were really impressed by Claire’s knowledge of the town and its history. She has carefully selected thoughtful areas to stop and discuss relevant history, local culture, and art. My wife and I, as well as our 7 year old daughter, felt like we learned so much about Montmartre. In addition we felt her tour of the Sacre Cour was filled with details about the religious history, building, sculptures, and art that we would have overlooked without her guidance. We would highly recommend working with Claire for a walking tour through Montmartre!

A very nice tour of Montmartre in the company of Robert, our guide for the occasion. As it is specified on the site, Robert speaks French very well, is passionate, and has a humor of his own which makes the visit very pleasant. We highly recommend.
