The Grand Egyptian Museum is incredibly huge — the scale is truly impressive. It can get very crowded, but the architecture and atmosphere are spectacular, and the museum is beautifully designed. The collections are well-presented with clear explanations, and you can easily spend hours exploring the galleries. The layout feels modern and spacious, with plenty of photo spots and areas to walk around comfortably. Overall, a must-visit in Cairo. The size, design, and exhibits make it a memorable experience despite the crowds.

Great museum with so many wonderful artifacts.. TutAnkh Amon collections and the golden mask are amazing.. the solar boat is also worth a visit.. You have to wear comfortable clothes and shoes as you will walk a lot in the Museum..

Located near the Giza Pyramids, it's the world's largest museum dedicated to a single civilization. Four hours inside and we barely scratched the surface. The museum is a chamfered triangle aligned with the Pyramids of Giza. The Grand Hall features a 11.36-meter tall, 3,200-year-old Colossus of Ramses II. The Grand Staircase is a six-story ascent lined with approximately 90 large statues and columns, acting as a chronological preview of ancient Egyptian history. The Main Galleries (12 Halls) span 5,000 years, organized by four major periods; Old, Middle, New and Greco-Roman kingdoms each divided by three core themes: Society, Royalty and Beliefs The gem of the GEM is, of course, the Tutankhamun Exhibit. All ±5,400 pieces discovered in King Tutankhamun's tomb are on show including the iconic Golden Mask, the ceremonial Golden Throne, the four gilded shrines, and the solid gold coffins.

This museum is absolutely massive and incredibly well-organized. From the moment you arrive, the entrance staff stand out they’re well-educated, professionally dressed, and clearly know what they’re doing. Inside, there are plenty of golf carts available to transport visitors around the grounds, which is a thoughtful touch. As of August 2025, the ticket price for non-Egyptians is 1200 EGP, and you can pay by card or cash. After purchasing your ticket, you scan it at the barrier to enter and that’s when the real experience begins. The interior is stunning, with powerful air conditioning that makes the visit comfortable even in the summer heat. There are multiple escalators to take you up through the different levels, and tour guides are available in many languages. I didn’t take a guide myself, and I quickly realized how vast and detailed the museum is it’s easy to get lost in the richness of the exhibits. The museum covers everything from ancient Pharaonic history to Roman influences and modern Egyptian heritage. The architecture and interior design blend beautifully with views of the pyramids, creating a truly breathtaking atmosphere. The glasswork and display arrangements are elegant and thoughtfully crafted. Security is excellent, with helpful staff and cameras throughout the facility. I genuinely recommend this museum to anyone interested in history, culture, or architecture it’s an unforgettable experience.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is an absolute must visit in Egypt and a true treasure of world heritage. The scale of the building itself is stunning modern, spacious and beautifully designed, perfectly complementing the priceless artifacts inside. The highlight is of course the massive statue of Ramses II welcoming you in the grand atrium which instantly sets the tone for the entire visit. The museum houses thousands of artifacts with exceptional displays dedicated to ancient Egyptian civilization. The galleries are very well organized offering a clear journey through history with detailed explanations in multiple languages. One of the most anticipated sections is the Tutankhamun collection which brings together items never before displayed all in one place. Seeing these masterpieces in such a well-curated environment is unforgettable. The lighting, layout and atmosphere make it easy to appreciate every detail without feeling crowded. The facilities are excellent, clean rest areas, cafes and shops selling quality souvenirs. Staff are helpful, security is well-present and everything feels very professional and welcoming.
