I chose this hotel for its proximity to the historic center of Florence and, in terms of location, it was a good choice. It is about a 10-minute walk to the old city walls and around 30 minutes to Ponte Vecchio. An additional advantage is the quick access to the Boboli Gardens, with the entrance located right next to the city walls. The hotel also offers supervised indoor free parking, which is very useful for those traveling by car. Unfortunately, everything else was disappointing. The room was furnished with very old pieces, the carpet was worn out, and the cleanliness left much to be desired – there was a lot of dust, probably due to the outdated furniture. On the first evening, I even felt the need to wipe the dust myself, as it had accumulated on the bedside table and on the wooden bed frame. Admittedly, housekeeping entered the room daily to change towels and restock toiletries, and the bathroom was decent in terms of cleanliness, but a piece of tile above the door was missing, which gave an overall neglected impression. Another important downside was the lack of a refrigerator in the room. We had brought a cooler, but discovered that during the day the power was turned off, most likely to save electricity. We realized this when one evening, upon returning to the hotel, the lights didn’t turn on, and reception had to “switch on” the power manually for us. Breakfast was also very disappointing: not only extremely limited in options but also of questionable quality. Only two types of cold cuts were available, with no cheeses, poor-quality coffee from a machine, and pastries that seemed to be supermarket-bought. Juices and water were served in plastic cups, while ceramic mugs were offered only for coffee. Moreover, breakfast was served in the garden, which could have been a charming and authentic detail, but the experience was ruined by the presence of more than 10 pigeons. Staff tried to gather them by feeding them so they would not stay around the tables, but this only made them fly around and disturb guests during the meal. It is true that the room price was very attractive for Florence, but this cannot justify the mediocre level of cleanliness or the poor quality of the breakfast.

Hôtel has its charm, it has a parking (very convenient). Service is great and location as well. Only thing is that rooms are not very well insulated.

Beware – Unauthorised Charge and No Help from the Hotel I started making a booking on the hotel’s own website. When I saw the price was over €670 and realised it was the wrong room, I immediately cancelled the payment process. I then booked a different room in the same hotel via Booking.com instead. However, the first, cancelled booking was still charged to my account. When I contacted the hotel multiple times, they kept insisting that I had booked via “Expedia”, which I had never used. As a result, I was unable to cancel through them. Visa initially refunded the amount. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that the first booking had been deleted. But four months later, the amount was charged to my account again. The hotel takes no responsibility, continues to refer me to Expedia, and has provided no help in resolving the issue. In my opinion, this behaviour is misleading and unacceptable. I strongly advise against booking here.

Good place to stay in Florence. Far from crowds, quite relaxing. Friendly staff, especially Ms Linda, who made the breakfast nicer:-)

Very comfortable large and elegant room in a beautiful historic villa, set in a quiet green part of town but only a few minutes walk into the city. Simple breakfast served in a lovely garden. A perfect place to visit Florence with or without a car!
