Very glad to have chosen this reserve, as it is clear they make an effort to keep the environment as best as possible for the 5 elephants currently under their care. In the 90-minute program we got to walk around the reserve, meet all the elephants (from the 9-year old baby to the 60-year old boss grandmother), get educated by the lovely guide and finally prepare the food to feed them - no direct feeding! All in all, definitely a good experience and a good way to support a company that truly cares.

This was without a doubt the highlight of our entire trip to Thailand. The Elephant Nature Reserve care very deeply about the rescued elephants in their care. The Elephants are never forced to do anything they don’t want to, there’s no touching and no shared mud baths (which is all very stressful for them). Dang was an amazing guide, who clearly loves the Elephants very much and talks with passion about them. You are still able to get very close and take lots of pictures, all while remaining respectful. Choose this sanctuary for an ethical and meaningful Elephant sanctuary!!!

We read reviews of many places before going to this one, mamy had controversial comments about the situation of the elephants. Phuket Elephant Nature Reserve had least negative opinions and that is for a reason. They do their best to make sure the animals are not being abused in the process of customer visits, they seem to know what they are doing. From the talk with the guide you can understand a lot about the situation of the elephants in Thailand and how different our „western” perception is from the local one. Just so that you are not surprised - there are not wild animals kept in this place, they have been trained and used by people in the past, that is why it is possible to be around them in the first place. We did a 90 minute tour which was good, informative and fun. Also - their restaurant is really worth recommendation.

We have decided to not go to the Chaing Mai elephant reserve because this one here in Phuket was exceptionally good. Even though we spent half of the day in a torrential downpour here, I would do it again at least another dozen times in the same conditions! From the moment you arrive to the time of departure in our car hire, the staff was so attentive. But let’s not stray far from the reason you go here in the first place. It is to learn and be educated about the elephants, the care, the exceptional life that they are provided after being rescued from not so ideal conditions. Our guide Tom was a great teacher. We chose the half-day option as opposed to the 90 minute tour. With the half-day option, you prepare food for the elephants, as well as a ginormous dessert platter they are given consisting of pineapple, papaya, sugarcane, bananas, of course, squash, and pumpkin. You chop it up and prepare it in a very large basket several of them in fact, and it is presented to the elephants to choose of their liking. The elephants are completely free to roam the grounds and seem very content to be where they are today you are not allowed to touch any of the elephants because they each have their own handler that spends the entire day with them and even they don’t touch the animal. I highly recommend it, especially at the end of the very long morning in the rain. There is a cooking demonstration where you are served the traditional soup and pad Thai noodles. I give the experience a five star review.

A truly amazing experience. Such a nice team and staff. It was very important to us to visit a truly ethical sanctuary and you can see that they respect and take really good care of the elephants. Me and my group took the 90min experience - we had the chance to first greet the elephants, then we go and prepare them food, after that we lay the food out for them and watch them eat. Would totally come back and do it again. 10/10
