Gay life in Bavaria, a deeply Catholic region, has long been a paradox, marked by discrimination, prejudice, and the shadows of the AIDS era. Many men and women suffered simply for being true to their nature. On this guided walking tour, you’ll explore over 800 years of LGBT history in Munich, delving into the city’s transformation from hidden homosexual lives to the thriving gay hub it is today. Discover the struggles faced by individuals, from the impact of sodomy laws and the Nazi regime's racial purity laws to the fight for modern LGBTQ rights. Royals, lawyers, and countless others worked tirelessly to normalize gay life and ensure that it reflected human nature in all its forms.
As you visit significant LGBT landmarks, you’ll hear inspiring stories of gay heroes, activists, writers, and resistance fighters who shaped the city's history. With a small group, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in meaningful discussions, and gain a deeper understanding of Munich’s vibrant, yet often difficult, LGBTQ journey. The intimate group atmosphere allows for a personal connection to the stories and history that have defined this city’s LGBTQ community.

Last weekend, I attended the pre-Christmas hike with Alex and a group of positive hikers. The route was near Tegernsee and I enjoyed the winter picturesque landscapes. Alex was a perfect and attentive guide. Plus, we had a stop with Glühwein and the lunch stop in the mountain cafe. I would recommend trying this tour to distract from busy city life and enjoying the lovely monents close to nature! 🏔🥾

We did the Prinzenweg tour with Alex today and I can highly recommend it. It is a moderately easy walk with breaks at mountain huts which cater for all tastes including vegan. Alex is a fantastic tour guide. He is knowledgeable, caring, inclusive and has a great sense of humour. We all had a lot of fun together especially after a couple of beers at the end of the tour. Best day best tour guide and will do it again when we come back from Australia.

I joined the hiking tour along the Prinzenweg and had a really great time! Alex took great care of the organization and preparation, and during the hike paid attention to everyone and led us safely along the route. And while hiking you even get to learn some interesting facts about Munich/Bavaria. I highly recommend the hikes offered by Alex and will definitely join another one!

I had the pleasure today to join Alex on the mountain hiking adventure Prinzenweg, and I can honestly say it was an experience of a lifetime! From start to finish, Alex displayed a great expertise, professionalism, and a genuine passion for the great outdoors. His familiarity with the area made us feel safe and confident throughout the journey. if you're looking for an exceptional mountain hiking guide, look no further than Munich stories. Alex’s expertise, friendly demeanor, and passion for nature make them the perfect companion for any outdoor adventure. Thank you once again for an unforgettable experience!

What an amazing tour! Highly recommendable! With his compassionate and competent manner, Alex really gave us a special trip around Munich with a lot of insights that you can't usually find in a guidebook. He has a real talent to impart his knowledge and to adapt to the level of the group. With the graphics on his iPad, Alex was able to illustrate some important events of the past even more vividly. Great guy who made this complex subject really easy to digest. Thank you so much, Alex! See you next time in Munich
