First of all be sure you have picked the right Galerías Pacifico. Our first Uber ride took us to another Galería! It is an experience walking around the historic building and doing a common activity. You will find a plethora of shops and restaurants. Stop and enjoy the frescoes on the ceilings. Enjoy the architecture of the building.. and of course shop!
Joseph

A magnificent building with shops and restaurants for every budget. Clothing retailers nearby are also great for shopping.

Galerías Pacífico is the best shopping mall within walking distance of our hotel in Retiro. After a short ten‑minute walk, we found ourselves at one of the top shopping destinations in Buenos Aires, all housed inside a remarkable historic building. The mall occupies a stunning Beaux‑Arts landmark, and its famous dome murals give the entire space a sense of grandeur you rarely see in a shopping center. Inside, the mix of shops, cafés, and open walkways makes it an easy place to explore, and even if you are not in the mood to shop, the architecture alone is worth the visit. It was noticeably busier than what I remembered from my last trip, which speaks to the growing popularity of this area and its importance to the local economy. The building itself is one of Buenos Aires’ great architectural treasures. Completed in 1889 as a Paris‑inspired department store, it features elegant arches, ornate details, and a soaring central dome that immediately draws your eye upward. The dome is decorated with large murals painted in the 1940s by some of Argentina’s most important artists, giving the space a cultural richness that goes far beyond retail. Over the years, the building has served many roles, including a period as the first home of the National Museum of Fine Arts. Today, it stands as a beautifully restored historic monument that blends architecture, art, and modern shopping in a way that makes it one of the most distinctive places to visit in the city. Get your wallets and cameras ready for one of the best experiences Buenos Aires has to offer!

Galerías Pacífico is beautiful shopping malls, The historic building features an impressive central dome with colorful murals, making it feel more like an art gallery than a mall. It offers a good mix of international and local brands, plus a decent food court and cafés. Prices can be on the higher side, and it often gets crowded, but it’s worth visiting even if you don’t plan to shop—just to admire the building and enjoy the atmosphere.
