Very Disappointed — Tour Was Canceled I booked a city tour but the company canceled it at the last minute. There was no proper communication or alternative arrangement offered, which was really disappointing. I had no plan on that day and it completely disrupted my schedule. I hope the company improves their customer service and handles cancellations more professionally in the future.

We booked the Monkeyland excursion and had an amazing time. Our tour guide (Carlos) was very knowledgeable and passionate about showing us the spots and history. Our driver (Angel) he knew how to navigate some of the smallest streets I've ever seen. When we got there, Bernie, the monkey keeper, was amazing ,he made sure that we all had a turn to interact with the monkey and take pictures. He also helped a little girl overcome her fear of monkeys . Absolutely recommend 👌

Scheduled City tour and Monkeyland through Royal C only because it was a new port for us- don't recommend. Guide tried to give a good tour using his mike, but the speaker was on/near him, so you had to stand very close. My main reason for the low rating is that they took us to a store (not listed in the description) so they could get their kickback (including the owner). We were stuck at that store for at least 45 minutes while everyone shopped. Took us through a couple of streets, including the pink street, walked us to Central park and then we could go into a cathedral and then dropped us at a restaurant on the umbrella street for a bathroom break; you could also buy lunch there) or shop at neighboring stores. Took us to Monkeyland (it's about 25/30 minutes away). Had a good experience there, even though the monkeys were not that hungry (they have multiple enclosures with monkeys, so they weren't taking everyone to the same enclosure). A monkey did urinate on my husband (not the reason for the low rating, just a warning). After monkeys, we got to stop by another the gift shop and then they took us to another part to see a typical village, but you can ask to be let back on the bus. Warning: there's a photographer on the bus, but they're selling the photos for a ridiculous price. There's also a photographer in Monkeyland - we bought those (28 photos for $35) and received them by email when they said). They did give us 2 bottles of water. We were 1.5 hours late back to the bus!!!! (partly because of the store stop. At least they didn't cut the tour short, but the Windjammer was closed and only one food option. Note: it was very hot and this was the first week of October. Check the weather before you book as the city tour was miserable.

We did an excursion through Runners Adventures last week that included Monkeyland and a few other stops. The bus itself was in impeccable shape and had strong A/C! Our guide, Carlos, was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the Dominican Republic. Our driver was great, and the experiences at Monkeyland, the village after, and Plaza Artesanal De La Madera Petrificada were all very unique.

I attended the Monkey Jungle excursion in March 2019 and had an AMAZING experience. We road in a safari bus driven by Roberto and our tour guide was Raul. Both were so much fun. We were all family by the end of the day. While at Monkey Jungle, I got to interact with squirrel monkeys and feed them fruit. The playful monkeys are so sweet! I had booked this excursion through Carnival. However, I did not know that Monkey Jungle is a non-profit! Any money that Monkey Jungle takes in goes to run a free dental and medical clinic for locals in poverty. The organization also offers zip lining experiences, but I did not do that. Monkey Jungle is also friendly to those with special needs. After the Monkey Encounter, we visited a countryside home where we had the opportunity to try fresh local coffee, mamajuana, and see their way of life. It was so sweet. Although, I’m sure that all of their excursions are excellent, I would highly recommend Runners Adventures and Monkey Jungle.
