Kicked off our trip through right way – 10/10 Would Do Again! We did the Rural Pub Tour with Shane as part of my brother in law Jason’s 50th birthday weekend, and I honestly cannot say enough good things about it. From start to finish, it was so much more than just a pub crawl — it felt like being welcomed into the real heart of Ireland. Going to smaller, more local pubs instead of the usual tourist spots made the whole experience incredibly special. We got to chat , laugh and soak up the kind of atmosphere you just can’t manufacture. Shane was an absolute legend of a guide! He kept the energy high and the vibes immaculate. It never felt rushed, never felt cheesy, and he had our group of twelve laughing all night. What made it even more special was how perfectly it fit our celebration. For a milestone birthday, this was exactly what we wanted: authentic, joyful, hilarious, heartwarming, and full of moments we’ll be talking about for years. We laughed nonstop, toasted to 50 incredible years, sang, made new friends, and left every pub with another story to tell. Thank you, Shane, for making Jason’s 50th birthday weekend truly unforgettable. This was hands down one of the highlights of our trip, and we would book it again in a heartbeat. This pub tour was exactly the "real Ireland" experience I was looking for. Shane was absolutely wonderful! He was funny, knowledgeable and engaging. He took us out into the suburbs to 3 quaint pubs. We tried new spirits, chatted with locals, learned some fun history and even got to experience some wonderful music. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get out of the city and experience the small town atmosphere of Ireland.
I had such a great time on this pub crawl, which included 6 great pubs (some with live music). The guide has such a fun, hilarious personality, and it was neat to see him interact with his friends and locals in the pubs in an area where he was born and raised. The food at the third pub was also excellent. I highly recommend this tour and would absolutely go again.
An absolute must do in Dublin! This tour was our favorite thing we did in Dublin - and it might just be our favorite thing we have done in all of our two weeks in Ireland! Our tour guide, Shane, was not only a wealthy of knowledge, but he was hilarious and all of us left smiling. The pubs were lovely and definitely not something you will see in the city - however the drive to them was not bad at all. 11/10 HIGHLY recommend this tour!
We are Dublin locals, and we still love joining Shane’s rural pub tours! They’re a perfect mix of tour (history facts), scenery (gorgeous views driving through the mountains), local knowledge (pub songs), and fun. Shane has a great relationship with the small pubs his groups visit, so you feel welcome from the moment you step in the door. Every pub we tried was unique, but they were all wonderful in their own way. During a recent tour we visited 6 pubs, saw two live music performances, sang in a music session, enjoyed several pints, had an authentic pub meal, chatted with several locals, and learned 5 new pub songs all within a few hours. Whenever our family is in town, we send them Shane’s way for an unforgettable memory. Looking forward to our next tour!
