​Dolmabahçe Palace is a breathtaking masterpiece that showcases the incredible luxury of the Ottoman Empire. The crystal chandeliers and gold-leaf ceilings are truly a sight to behold ✨️ ​If you arrive before 10 am you can enjoy taking photos in the garden peacefully without the crowds. They offer free audio guides, but you must leave either a cash deposit of €100/$100 or your passport as collateral, so please have one of these ready. The audio guide was excellent and I recommend scheduling at least 3-4 hours for your visit to see everything at a relaxed pace. Also, please note that while taking photos of the interior with your phone is allowed, but you are NOT permitted to take photos of people against the palace interior as a background.

Dolmabahçe Palace is absolutely stunning. The architecture and interiors are incredibly rich in detail and beauty. Walking through the halls feels like stepping into another era. The location by the Bosphorus makes it even more special. A must-visit place in Istanbul for anyone who appreciates history and elegance.

Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul truly captivated me; it's one of those places where you immediately feel the weight of history. From the moment you arrive, what strikes you is its impressive size and its location on the banks of the Bosphorus. The facade is majestic, very European in style, almost like a Parisian palace… except that it overlooks the water, which makes it unique. Inside, it's pure luxury: incredibly high ceilings, monumental staircases, and an abundance of gold, crystal, and marble. The most striking moment for many visitors is the ceremonial hall with its enormous crystal chandelier (one of the largest in the world). You almost get the impression that the room was designed to impress… and it works 😅 But Dolmabahçe isn't just beautiful: it's also deeply moving. This is where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk spent his final days. The room where he died is very simple, almost silent, and contrasts sharply with the rest of the palace. It gives a truly human dimension to the visit.
