Having Thomas has our guide and driver was the highlight of our Kyoto trip. As a Canadian who’s been living in Japan for the last few decades, he was very interesting to be with, offering both an international and a local point of view on the history culture and customs of Japan, Kyoto and the neighboring area. He drove us to the various temples and highlights on our itinerary and pointed to small details along the way, and historical explanation to everything we saw. Our family had an amazing day in Kyoto learning about Japanese culture while sightseeing with Dieter and Thomas from "Tours in Kyoto". We only had one day to visit Kyoto, so it was important that we had the ability to customize our tour to see and do what we had planned. Jonathan was our point of contact and he did an amazing job balancing our sightseeing goals in what amounted to a very short time period (one day isn't enough). On the day of our tour we arrived in Kyoto from Tokyo and were met by Dieter and Thomas at the Shinkansen train station. We spent the day visiting several temples, shrines, had lunch, and did some shopping! Our guides were very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable.
