Having Thomas has our guide and driver was the highlight of our Kyoto trip. As a Canadian who’s been living in Japan for the last few decades, he was very interesting to be with, offering both an international and a local point of view on the history culture and customs of Japan, Kyoto and the neighboring area. He drove us to the various temples and highlights on our itinerary and pointed to small details along the way, and historical explanation to everything we saw. When we return to Kyoto, Thomas will be the first person and only guide we would contact! Thank you Tom for making our Kyoto trip wonderful!

We had such a wonderful time with Thomas as our tour guide today visiting landmarks in Kyoto. You made the day very fun and memorable. Your knowledge of the area was exceptional. We would recommend you for future tours and to friends! All the best! The Kanaha Ohana.

Our family had an amazing day in Kyoto learning about Japanese culture while sightseeing with Dieter and Thomas from "Tours in Kyoto". We only had one day to visit Kyoto, so it was important that we had the ability to customize our tour to see and do what we had planned. Jonathan was our point of contact and he did an amazing job balancing our sightseeing goals in what amounted to a very short time period (one day isn't enough). On the day of our tour we arrived in Kyoto from Tokyo and were met by Dieter and Thomas at the Shinkansen train station. We spent the day visiting several temples, shrines, had lunch, and did some shopping! Our guides were very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable. We learned so much about Japanese culture, history, and traditions! I want to thank Dieter and Thomas for making the tour a true highlight of our family trip to Japan. I highly recommend "Tours in Kyoto", simply a top notch group that will work with you to create a memorable tour of Kyoto and beyond.

Had a great time visiting Kyoto with our guide Thomas. While he expertly navigated us through this beautiful city, he shared really interesting, personal insights what’s it like to live in Japan. Even though we had limited time in this beautiful city, he managed to show us so many wonderful sites, including many of the UNESCO World Heritage Site: Higashi Honganji Temple Bamboo Forest in Arashiyama Tenryuji Temple Kinkakuji Temple-Golden Pavilion Kyoto Imperial Palace Panoramic Eastern Mountain Range / Kamo River Area Shimogamo Shrine Silver Pavilion-Ginkakuji Temple Philosophers Path Gion Tea Houses - Hanaminokoji-Shimbashi Geisha Area Highly recommend exploring Kyoto with Thomas.

We cannot say enough good things about our day with Tours in Kyoto. From planning our day ahead of time and getting advice for the day to working with our expert guides, Thomas and Dieter, during our experience, we felt truly well cared for. Our day began and ended precisely as promised. The depth of knowledge shared at each of the sights we visited and personal insights into Japanese life and culture are truly priceless. Having guides with such love and passion for sharing Kyoto’s wonders gave us an experience that we could only have dreamed of. This was the best tour we have ever enjoyed. If you’re looking for a tailored adventure in the Kyoto prefecture, Tours in Kyoto is the perfect choice.
