I’ve just finished the valentines tour and I couldn’t describe how amazing the experience was from the history to the hosts themselves! I would urge anyone able to go to do so asap!! You can tell when people actually love what they do and the hosts love for what they’re doing really shines through and makes the experience all the better.
This was purchased as a family Xmas experience. It was interesting, interactive and the positive passion the staff had from start to finish. It was also fantastic to see the Anglican Cathedral lit up from the angle of the cemetery. We will be recommending to friends and family.
My husband and I decided to take the Tales of the Necropolis tour on our city break to Liverpool as November is the spookiest month, as well as our firm favourite time of year. The tour was superb from start to finish. Our guides, “Miss Llewelyn” and “Mr Roberts”, both dressed in period clothing, were engaging and charismatic. Their delivery was perfectly pitched. They told us spooky tales but all within their historical context, which made it super interesting. I don’t want to reveal anything which could potentially contain spoilers but let’s just say that there were moments when our guides were certainly not “acting” and were telling their real experience. I really wish we could have stopped and taken a picture with the guides, and complimented them about the tour, but we had a dinner reservation to rush to. I hope Mr Roberts and Miss Llewelyn will know from this review how much we enjoyed the tour! I would absolutely recommend Tales from the Necropolis to anyone looking to do something a bit different on a dark night in Liverpool!
If I could give this tour 100 out of 10 I would! I have followed Tales from Necropolis on Instagram for many years & have spotted them on their tours and have always wanted to attend, I'm so glad I did & want to do it again! The guides tell the stories pitched at a good level with the right amount of drama to add to the already atmospheric environment, not only spooky but interesting & informative- even as a local Scouser myself. The guides were talented, knowledgeable and so friendly- I only wish they offered after tour drinks in the pub to hear more about rheir personal spooky encounters over a whisky! Absolutely 100% I would recommend this tour!!
Brilliant for those who enjoy history & spooky things! The two hosts were very engaging & friendly, telling personal anecdotes of ghost encounters in the cemetery alongside its legends and history. My friend and I had the best time! Will never forget it, thank you!
