A truly enjoyable afternoon with our brilliantly informative tour guide, Alberto. Not only was he very knowledgeable about the wine industry and history of the vineyard, but being local also gave us a lot of interesting information about the countryside we were being driven through. The tour covered all aspects of the vineyard as well as the history of the property and the family who own it. The tasting in the restaurant was well paced, and we were able to add to the crisps, bread sticks and olives provided by purchasing a platter of charcuterie or cheese. We purchased some wine to take with us, which with a 3 for 2 offer was very reasonably priced. Finally on the route back at our request Alberto dropped us off at the Main Bus Station. Alberto was a wonderful guide - we had the best day trip to Casa Cecilia winery. Aside from the wine tour, Alberto gave us so much history and context from the moment we got into the car till he dropped us off. He also provided a list of restaurant recommendations - tried one of them tonight and it was so good!
I joined a wine tour in Alicante and absolutely loved every moment of it! The vineyards were beautiful, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Our guide was so knowledgeable — sharing not only details about the winemaking process but also great stories about the region and its traditions. What an amazing experience. Rebecca’s love, pride, and knowledge of her city definitely shows on this tour. You tour start on the lower level of the market with multiple samples. Then head out to your first tapas bar some award winning and delicious tapas and your choice of drink. The totilla de patata was my favorite here. Then back to the market for the tour of the upper level. The first stop is at Jorge’s delicious meats(I made that name up) 😂 for some amazing ”broke da Mouth” treats. After the market tour you head out to learn about and sample some Turron (nougat), then head to the final stop at another award winning tapas bar. The tapa and drink was amazing. We had such an amazing time with Rebecca and so glad she was able to squeeze us in last minute. I highly recommend this and all tours from her and her husband. Thank you so much Rebecca! We had a fantastic guided 'tapas' tour from Rebecca today. So interesting to explore the amazing central market and nearby tapas bars with an English speaking local who has an abundance of passion for food and a wealth of knowledge. The food and drink we tried was delicious and the unique stories associated with them made us feel privileged to try them. We highly recommend this truly special experience!
