Set off from Vlora on a scenic morning boat trip to the Haxhi Ali Cave at the tip of the Karaburun Peninsula. After about half an hour on the water, you’ll arrive at this cubic-shaped cave, stretching 30 meters long, 12 meters wide, and 18 meters high. Inside, marvel at the stunning stalactites and rock formations shaped over thousands of years, and discover a fresh water spring at the cave’s end. After a guided tour, you can choose to snorkel in the crystal-clear waters or relax with a drink on the boat, fully enjoying the magical surroundings.
The journey continues along the wild Karaburun coast, passing beautiful beaches like Shen Jani, Aquamarina, and San Basil. Stop for lunch at Zhanpovel Beach, sampling local specialties at a beachfront restaurant, before returning along the Vlora coastline, passing Zhironi, Kalasa, and the Cold Water district. The cave is named after the legendary pirate Haxhi Alia Ulqinaku, who defended the coast from Venetian and French incursions in the 17th century, earning a lasting place in local legend and songs still sung in his honor today.

90 minutes air-conditioned bus travel, then long ship cruise. Cool, unusual island to visit, you can either stay at beautiful beach, or visit abandoned military buildings. When returning, there's another stop at another beautiful beach, where you can - with additional fee - swim to sea cave. Overall, nice trip worth its price.
