This full-day tour takes you deep into the heart of northern Albania, combining adventure, nature, and relaxation in one unforgettable experience. Beginning in the early morning from Durres, the journey leads you through scenic mountain roads toward the magnificent Lake Koman, a man-made wonder created in the late 1970s by the construction of the Fierza dam. Often compared to the Aswan High Dam in Egypt, Lake Koman harnesses the power of the Drini i Zi and Drini i Bardhe rivers and has, over the past four decades, become a sanctuary for diverse species of fish, birds, and amphibians. Upon arrival, you’ll board a small local boat and glide through emerald-green waters framed by steep cliffs, dense forests, and tiny villages tucked into the wilderness. The serene atmosphere and ever-changing colors of the landscape create a sense of wonder as you make your way to the Shala River, known as the “Albanian Thailand” for its crystal-clear waters and pristine beauty. Surrounded by the dramatic peaks of the Albanian Alps, you’ll find small pebble beaches perfect for relaxing, sunbathing, or taking a refreshing dip in the icy mountain-fed water. A delicious riverside lunch awaits at a cozy tavern, offering a taste of authentic Albanian hospitality before your return journey, leaving you with lasting memories of this spectacular natural paradise.

Kristina

Eduard and I communicated directly, and everything was clear and straightforward. We got on the bus on time, and the tour itself was stunning. Only on the way back the weather wasn’t on our side – there was thunder, lightning, and heavy rain. In such cases, it’s worth bringing a raincoat, otherwise you’ll get soaked and cold.

Our trip on the river was a lot of fun! Our guide Kristian was fantastic. From the minute I called to make the reservation communication was clear and very easy to coordinate. Definitely recommend!

We went on this boat trip today (early June) with a 1 year old. We were a bit worried about the heat (33 degrees that day) but the sun shade on the boat and the cool air from the water plus an occasional splash made it actually very pleasant (a parasol came in handy to protect the baby from the wind and the water) and we had a great time on the trip. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Other reviews mentioned a nicely guided tour with a lot of information on the way. Our "captain" didn't provide such service so maybe it's something that should be looked into but still, I would happily recommend this company. Knowing how everything looks, I probably wouldn't go on this trip during high season as it must be full of tourists but beginning of June is great.
