Arctic Day – A Survival Workshop

Explore the Arctic wilderness with Bliss as the guide meets clients at the designated meeting point in Pyhä or Luosto. After a warm meet and greet, clients are taken to a suitable location for a theory workshop on Arctic nature and survival skills. Discover both traditional and contemporary techniques as Bliss’ survival instructor introduces essential gear, including Arctic sleeping bags, mats, clothing for extreme cold, and various stove systems. Learn about the materials’ suitability for harsh environments while enjoying a nutritious yet light meal.

Step into the wilderness on snowshoes and put your skills to the test. Weather permitting, the survival instructor will demonstrate how to build a quinzee, a traditional snow shelter made by hollowing out a pile of settled snow—a proven method to survive the Arctic night. Clients will have the hands-on experience of constructing their own quinzee, which can take a couple of hours per group. Finally, follow the Bliss guide back to civilization, carrying newfound Arctic survival skills and unforgettable memories.
