We had our tour with Mr Pregl in German and he had a lot to share. Interesting local history facts and amazing views. Highly recommended.
I had the tour with Thomas Pregl. Not very interesting, in my opinion, I expected more of a focus on the history of Bamberg and the main sights. Instead, the guide told us more about beer and food. He is a German and History teacher and a hobby-writer (who writes crime novels). Like all teachers, he thinks he is ALWAYS right and doesn't like to be contradicted. Every second sentence, he advertised his new novel, which should have been printed a year ago :-) Being the only woman and an "Ausländerin" (foreigner) in a tour of 4 younger + one older German male guide did not make things easier, on the contrary, they seized every opportunity to make misogynistic and xenophobic commrnents and to make me feel awkward. I actually wanted to leave the tour in the first 5 minutes, but I chose to stay. Tried to ignore it, but it wasn't pleasant at all.
