The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most remarkable journeys in Nepal, taking adventurers through a wide variety of landscapes and cultures around the majestic Annapurna massif. Beginning in Kathmandu with its rich cultural heritage and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, the trek gradually introduces you to the rural beauty of Nepal. The trail winds through lush subtropical forests, terraced farmlands, rivers, and waterfalls before ascending into high alpine terrain and the windswept valleys of Mustang. Along the way, you will pass through traditional villages, experience the warmth of local communities, and witness the transition from Hindu cultural influences in the lowlands to Tibetan traditions in the higher regions. Each step reveals a new perspective of the Himalayas, with breathtaking views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machhapuchhre.

This epic circuit provides trekkers with unforgettable highlights, including acclimatization in the picturesque town of Manang, crossing the world famous Thorong La Pass at over five thousand meters, and visiting sacred sites like the revered Muktinath Temple. The journey also offers moments of relaxation and beauty, such as bathing in the natural hot springs of Tatopani and experiencing the magical sunrise from Poon Hill, where panoramic mountain views stretch across the horizon. Combining cultural immersion, natural wonders, and physical challenge, the Annapurna Circuit remains one of the most rewarding and iconic treks in the Himalayas. With the support of experienced guides, comfortable teahouse accommodations, and the hospitality of the local people, this adventure is both accessible and deeply memorable.

It is a wonderful hike that’s gonna be completed in anywhere between 20 and seven days, depending on where you choose to start and end. No Guide is needed and no Porter if you are physically fit. Tea houses are abundant along the way, and you can expect to spend about $20 per day on food and drinks, which in low season will also cover your accommodation. Make sure you take enough time to acclimatise to the extreme height. I would say 4 to 5 days is a minimum before crossing the pass. There are large sections that go by the road, which you may consider skipping.

Annapurna Trekking refers to the trekking routes in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This region is popular among trekkers due to its scenic beauty, diverse landscapes, and challenging hikes. The Annapurna trekking circuit provides an opportunity to explore the majestic Himalayas, including stunning views of peaks such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail). The trekking options in the Annapurna region range from short and easy walks to challenging hikes that require a high degree of physical fitness. The treks can last from a few days to over three weeks, depending on the chosen route and itinerary. The trekking trails pass through picturesque mountain villages, terraced fields, rhododendron forests, and alpine landscapes. One of the most popular routes in the Annapurna region is the Annapurna Circuit Trek. This trek takes about 15-20 days and involves crossing the high-altitude Thorong La Pass. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is another popular option, which takes about 7-12 days and provides an opportunity to trek to the base camp of Annapurna peak. The Annapurna region also offers a diverse cultural experience, with ethnic Gurung and Magar communities that have unique traditions and lifestyle. The trekking routes pass through several small villages that offer a glimpse into the local culture and way of life. Overall, Annapurna Trekking is a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, offering a unique and unforgettable experience in the heart of the Himalayas.

Extremely diverse trek. Starting with forests and gushing rivers and continuing to rocky mountain terrain and alpine lakes, reaching heights at the pass that might have snow depending on the season, and then descending into a dry river resembling a desert area. This long and gradually ascending route is perfect for acclimatization to the altitudes. That, along with the beautiful Tibetan villages with temples and welcoming people where you stay and eat, make this trek very accessible and relatively comfortable. You can start and end at different points in the route, allowing flexibility in planning the length of the walk. There are also a few side treks from the main circuit, I did Tilicho lake and I recommend it.

Climbing and descending ridges, hill slopes, stone stairs and climbing snow while enduring the cold gives various experiences. Trekking the ABC is the dream of every climber from around the world. We were lucky because the guide, Ganesh Nuepane from White Himalaya Treks And Expedition and his assistant, Raj Nuepane, could speak English well, thus facilitating interaction throughout the expedition. Ganesh and Raj always give us encouragement and motivation. We were served rice, fries, coffee and hot tea to refresh our bodies. The cold weather started to bother us mentally as soon as we arrived in Jhinudanda, and we paid NPR150 (RM6) for a hot shower. Allocate some NRP to buy food, hot water, mineral water or snacks. The higher the altitude of the guest house, the higher the price. The second day tested the climbers' challenge as the distance from Jhinudanda to Bamboo was long and took up to nine hours to travel. We went through winding paths, steep stair climbs and rocky paths to reach Chomrong, a hilltop village that not only presents a backdrop of the Himalayan Ranges. Then we went down the stone stairs and crossed the river before reaching Lower Sinuwa for lunch. From Sinuwa, we continued the journey to Bamboo, which is at an altitude of 2,345 meters. On the third day, we headed to Deurali, which is at an altitude of over 3,249 meters. Participants were reminded of mountain sickness (AMS), which usually occurs after being at an altitude of more than 2,500 meters. The journey takes up to seven hours at a moderate pace, not too fast to avoid AMS but not too slow to be separated from group members. We started the climb on the fourth day with a true friend's determination and loyal spirit to help a friend. He ran out of energy and was afflicted by mountain sickness but still managed to reach ABC. Our success was greeted with snow and strong winds followed by blizzards. On the fifth day of the climb, despite the weather, we flew the giant Jalur Gemilang measuring 12 meters wide, six meters high and weighing 11 kg.
