During our wedding event in Marrakech, we had the pleasure of welcoming the talented calligraphy artist Essaid ZIZI. Our guests enjoyed a wonderful cultural and artistic experience, having their names beautifully personalized in Arabic calligraphy on elegant cards he created. The atmosphere, blending Moroccan music, art, and culture, made the evening truly unforgettable. I attended this workshop as the only participant and had five start treatment! So much was covered from the history of Arabic script through different styles of writing to the pigments used along with a demonstration of how to make the pen. I practised many strokes and learned how to write many Arabic letters and make decorative marks. I also came away with my name and other words beautifully written by ESSAID and am proud to have my certificate of participation! I was not rushed and felt very relaxed to learn and was encouraged by the workshop to continue. ESSAID has also given me links to more information to continue to practice. This has been great! Thank you.

To be honest we were unaware that we would find such a gem in the museum of Marrakesh - one having a form of a man armed with a bunch of cards, a pen and a few little bowls of ink. The discovery made our stay in Marrakesh that much more worth it, since now we are proud owners of unique souvenirs in forms of magnets and bookmarks. If you are looking for something beautiful and different, I highly recommend seeking out this treasure hidden in the labyrinth of the Medina.
