Worst airport -it’s new but they didn’t let u in and out even if u have a board ticket and checked in and everything. They take your lighter !?! (A small one. Not these big ones) and everyone is lazy and not working and unfriendly -they want Dollar because no change even they suppose to take egp. And please don’t expect anyone to speak English (counter yes-Airport staff no) in that „international“ airport -and ofc no WiFi (even if it’s says so no). So u can land here but not departure -I will not again because it stresses me out too much and I’m traveling her back and force on regular bases...

A lot of checking points... Sometimes road is closed because fog... And you can miss flight if u can't not handle. Immigration people not good mood. But in general is good airport if it's almost empty and you go just 2 hours before your flight.

İt was all okey while entering to the Country. But when it was time to leave... İn total it took 2 hours to complete all the progress untill the gates. İn each 5 meters someone random stop and check passports. Security checks are extremely strict and absurt. They touch you 2 times all over your body to make sure everything is ok. And it's not done! İn final Security checkpoint when you pass a person stops and checks your cabin luggage until last corner, unroll everything, make such a mess for which I was notable enough of time. I will not even start about attitude of workers. Gross. Egypt is worth of visiting of course but NEVER AGAIN!!!

It was well organised despite multiple checking stations throughout the airport. The staff are polite and guide you as well as they can despite sometimes having a language barrier. Plenty of places for passengers to sit while waiting. Great, simple experience.

I travelled to 53 countries and never experienced such a bad rule at an airport. I landed at 00:10 am at SPX and my next flight was at 9:30 am. When I tried to enter the departure area, the security guard stopped me and told me that I am not allowed to enter the terminal. Only 3 hours before the departure time you can enter the airport... There are free seats in the waiting area, and the security guard is staying at the door, not letting you to sit there. I also talked with a manager, and I asked him, is the airport open 0-24 hours as advertised on their website? He said yes, it is open, but you can enter so early. So, practically, it is open, but not open... Facepalm. There was a flight of Turkish Airlines at 4 am, so the airport was technically not closed and there was plenty of space in the waiting room, and they not let me to stay there... I asked them, what should I do then? They directed me to the mosque which is opposite to the airport... So I was waiting six hours at a bench of a mosque as a non-Muslim. It was little scary, people were looking at me, but as an experienced travelled I kept calm and smiled back, so it was actually not dangerous. It was just very strange to stay overnight in front of a mosque... My photos are attached. Crazy experience. I was not expecting this, it is nowhere mentioned that you cannot enter the departure hall... I might also post a vlog on my YouTube channel about this very weird rule of SPX.
