I was super excited to rent a kayak and check out the castle, however they would not rent to me because I was alone. Very disappointing. Just a heads up, if you want to go alone you need to go with a guide and book it ahead of time. Good to know!
Our visit to Cavan Adventure Centre was absolutely outstanding from start to finish! My extended family and I had such an unforgettable day filled with adventure, laughter, and impeccable hospitality. The boat trip was a highlight of the day. Siobhan, our skipper, was fantastic—her professionalism and charm made the journey so enjoyable. The tour guide was equally amazing—brimming with knowledge and always ready to help, ensuring we felt safe, informed, and entertained throughout. A special mention has to go to Sean, the owner, who truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His kindness and accommodating nature were second to none—he genuinely could not have done more to ensure we all had an incredible experience. After the boat trip, we had great fun on the swan boats—perfect for all ages and such a delightful activity. I even tried my hand at kayaking, which was an absolute blast. The centre provided such a variety of activities that there was something for everyone to enjoy. I can't recommend Cavan Adventure Centre highly enough! It’s the perfect destination for families, groups, or anyone looking to create wonderful memories. We’ll definitely be back.
when my family failed me on our canoeing adventure by refusing to paddle after roughly five minutes out on the lake, my day was about to end in disaster, but the team at the Cavan Adventure Centre came to my rescue. I was allowed to try kayaking and embark on my very own adventure on Lough Oughter and it was absolutely fantastic and so much fun. an amazing experience for both experienced rowers and fledglings like me.
recently had the pleasure of spending few hours at CAC and I can confidently say it was a delightful experience from start to finish. this place is the friendly staff. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles.
Fantastic day out, lovely staff and beautiful scenic route to the Island Castle. Went again after 3 weeks, and it did not disappoint we had a fantastic time out on the water and went to the water park this time too. It was amazing and we'll be back more often. Also Josh is a top man and not only ensured everyone was safe but was really good crack too.
