Was a very enjoyable and pleasure trip to Imlil with a group of 8

Fantastic Day Trip to Imlil Valley, with imlil-trekking.com A group of 3 friends and had a day to kill in Marrakech, and we knew that we wanted to head out to see some sights south of the city. We did some research on TripAdvisor and found five tour operators who looked promising, and emailed each of them to see what we might be able to do in regards to a tour the very next day. The folks at Imlil-Trekking got back to us in a matter of hours and were able to arrange a day trip to the Imlil Valley departing the very next morning. The driver arrived at our riad early and we left from there to Imlil, stopping at a weekly Berber market in a town halfway there. Once we arrived in Imlil, we met with our guide Hamid, who couldn't have been a better guide to the area. A native of a village perched above Imlil, Hamid was kind, knowledgeable and gracious as a guide. We hiked thru the hills above Imili, stopping at a scenic waterfall before hiking to a guesthouse for a delicious lunch. The tour company furnished a mule as well that we took turns riding up and down the hills. As mules are indispensable for transportation and agricultural work in this mountainous region, riding one ourselves was incredibly cool. The day wouldn't have been as great as it was, however, absent the elxcellent job that Hamid did as a guide. He embodied all of the great characteristics of Berber hospitality, and we left the day knowing far more about the area and its wonderful people than we would have ever imagined.
