Part of the Orhei Old complex. Built in the 15th century, you can go inside this cave Monastery, get very close to the cliff and see the old chambers. Cool place Your 20 MLD ticket at the entrance of the complex gives you access to all the buildings in this area

Very cool. A bit of a walk from parking spot but worth the view and history. The caves were dug by Orthodox Monks in the 13th Century and is now a place of worship once again after Moldova declared independence from the USSR in 1991. Fortress by Stephen the great against the Golden Horde.

The rock monastery of Orhei Vecchi in Moldova is located in the Old Orhei area, about 60 km from Chişinău, and can be reached on foot from the bus stop in Butuţeni village. The monastery, carved out of rock, is free to visit, but photography inside is restricted without permission. The monks live by candlelight, creating a unique and serene atmosphere. The surrounding landscape is breathtaking and offers excellent hiking opportunities. Our driver recommended this place and took us there. Although the roads from Chisinau were quite rough, the drive through the countryside was interesting. The monastery is just a short 10-minute walk from the parking lot. The building itself is impressive and well-maintained. Unfortunately, the store was closed during our visit. However, the views from the top of the hill were beautiful, offering stunning scenery all around.
