A full-day Elephant Jungle Sanctuary experience offers visitors a unique opportunity to get to know each of the elephants and gain insight into their daily lives and behaviors. Set in a densely forested mountainous region surrounded by lush jungle scenery, the sanctuary provides a safe, sustainable, and freely roamed environment for the elephants. Guests are picked up from their accommodation in Chiang Mai and travel approximately one and a half hours through scenic agricultural countryside, catching glimpses of local rural life. Upon arrival, an English-speaking guide introduces visitors to the sanctuary, its elephants, and the local culture. Guests are dressed in traditional Karen clothing, provided with bananas and sugarcane for feeding, and then have the chance to meet, touch, play with, feed, and photograph each elephant while learning about their individual personalities and unique histories. A traditional Thai lunch with fresh fruit is served midway through the day, offering a delightful break before reconnecting with the elephants.
The afternoon is filled with immersive and interactive activities that bring visitors even closer to the elephants. Guests walk alongside the elephants to a nearby river to bathe and brush them, enjoying the playful and refreshing water together. Following the river bath, participants join the elephants in a therapeutic mud spa, covering them in a protective layer of mud and engaging in joyful, hands-on interaction. Afterward, guests can rinse off in the river or enjoy a relaxing swim before changing back into their clothes. The day concludes with the scenic drive back to Chiang Mai, passing through picturesque rural landscapes in the soft glow of the afternoon sun, leaving visitors with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for the elephants and the sanctuary’s ethical conservation practices.

Really nice full-day tour to the elephant sanctuary. Small group and really relaxed. Great local tour guide from Karen tribe that explained a lot about local plants and the elephants. It was a great day-highly recommended. Thanks for the great experience!

Me and my partner did the full day experience and this is the best value for money activity i have ever done. Our guide Dej was incredible, so friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The experience of seeing the elephants up close and personal was surreal, getting to feed them, bathe them and make their vitamin balls which we also gave them. The food prepared was great, rice and local dishes which were fresh tasty and accompanied by fruit. The weather was miserable and rained all day but it had no impact on the day as the team mad it an unreal experience 10/10 and Dej is fantastic at what he does.

We did the half day morning tour and truly enjoyed the experience, would recommend! Pai and the team are passionate about the elephants and are well looked after. We did a hike with the elephants in the forest and the team are knowledgeable to keep you safe but you also need to use common sense and treat them with respect. Plenty of opportunity to take photos with them. This tour was a memorable part of our holiday.

The most amazing experience visiting this elephant sanctuary!! There were three female elephants at the camp when we visited, one rescued from Burma and two in Thailand. Our guide Pai and everyone that worked there were very passionate about caring for the elephants. They were well looked after and they had a lot of space for the elephants to roam freely, graze, bathe. We fed the elephants snacks then went for a walk with them in the forest where the elephants took the lead, snacking along the way. We just followed them and observed in their natural habitat before they went back to the field. Their mahouts were very respectful and calm, the elephants looked at peace throughout our visit. They had a mud bath and swam in the river after and we had some Thai home cooked lunch provided. Overall an enjoyable and incredible experience, as far as ethical sanctuary’s go, this was definitely worth the visit. Thank you so much for everything that you and your team do, Pai! 🙏🏼🐘

Magical experience and one of a kind where the elephants are not chained and are free to roam in the jungle. I spent 3 weeks researching the perfect ethical elephant sanctuary to visit and this was perfect. The mahouts are really knowledgeable and look after the animals really well. They are free to roam in the jungle and Positive reinforcement is used to ensure the elephants enjoy the human interaction. Added bonus was the delicious lunch that was made for us and all the produce is from local markets and made fresh on site. To be clear: No riding No chains No sticks These animals are well cared for and you learn a lot from this full day programme. Would highly recommend and will be back soon to see Lam (our mahout) in the future!
