Our unique Feed and Shower experience offers visitors the chance to interact closely with elephants in an ethical and safe environment. Guests can observe the elephants under our care, feed them fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, and join them as they cool off in a custom-built outdoor elephant shower designed to simulate natural rain. This hands-on experience allows participants to witness the majestic beauty and remarkable behaviors of elephants while feeding them from a specially constructed viewing platform and watching them bathe and roam freely in their scenic natural habitat.
The Feed and Shower experience is ideal for visitors with limited time who want an ethical and engaging encounter with elephants, as well as those seeking a brief introduction to our conservation project. In addition to interacting with the elephants, participants can take part in our Elephant Poop Paper class, learning how to recycle elephant waste into paper as part of the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary's sustainability initiatives. This combination of wildlife interaction and environmental education creates a meaningful and memorable experience for all guests.

A long scenic drive to an oasis in the mountains where we had an amazing interaction with elephants. Pao is a great tour guide, the elephants enthusiastically consumed the food and vitamin balls we constructed. Hearing the stories of each elephants journey to this paradise was informing and touching. The group prepared Pad Thai was a wonderful meal.

This was one of the most incredible experiences I had in Thailand! The hotel transfer was smooth, on time, and easy to contact on WhatsApp. We stopped halfway for bathrooms and snacks before arriving. There’s a short walk to the sanctuary—some parts are muddy, so wear flip flops or shoes you can clean easily. We started with a quick intro and payment (cash or card) and cooking class where we made pad Thai, then ate while watching the elephants. After that, we cut up sugar cane and brought it to their feeding stations. There are five elephants total. Big Boy and his four ladies who are all rescued from logging, circuses, and riding camps. Our guide was amazing!! He was funny, friendly, and spoke great English. Bring a rain jacket because if it rains, it pours! We forgot ours, and it rained for two hours. Sneakers got really muddy on the walk back. You’ll stand close to the elephants but don’t touch them. You just bring them their food, take photos, and enjoy being near these beautiful, gentle giants.

Spent an amazing day with the rescued elephants of Big Boy! This sanctuary is home to five elephants who were rescued from: logging industry, circus, and tourism rides. The staff was incredibly friendly & funny! Pad Thai at the end was the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend to anyone!!

My friend and I had the most amazing time on the half day trip! We booked a morning tour the night before, and were promptly picked up from our airbnb at 7am as they had said! The ride was included in fare, and stopped on the way to the sanctuary about halfway at a coffee/restroom stop. We arrived at the sanctuary around 9:30am, and got right to learning about the elephants! We helped the staff to prepare sugarcane and grass to feed the elephants, and made medicine balls to offer as well. Beautiful setting, and wonderful kind staff! We were able to walk our food offerings to the elephants troughs, with no touch/no bathe/no feed enforced, which was what we were looking for! We spent a lot of quality time event around the elephants, but with respectful distance and hear about the stories of the elephants and where they had been rescued from. At the end, the staff have you help prepare a lunch or pad thai and fresh fruit, which we got to eat while observing the elephants from a covered deck! Was an amazing day and perfect for the ethical experience we wanted!

While researching many websites for the greater Chiang Mai area for ethical elephant sanctuaries, Big Boy caught my eye. Their service van ferried me, my wife, my sister-in-law the 1-1/2 hour to the sanctuary where we were greeted by Mr. Su. Mr. Su immediately made us feel welcome. He explained how our 1/2 day experience would laid out. His caring, knowledge, and sense of humor made our visit one of the best experiences in Thialand. From the instructions of making our Thai Pad lunch, preparing the digestive snack for the elephants, to being near these beautiful natures’ creatures, Mr. Su was everything one could ask for in visiting and learning about these (4) elephants. Thank-you to Big Boy and their staff. I highly recommend anyone who wants to see and understand a truly ethical rehabilitation elephant sanctuary, go to Big Boy and have Mr. Su as your host.
