We had the most wonderful experience with our fantastic guide Amour. We learnt so much about the mangroves, thoroughly enjoyed kayaking (thank you for your patience Amour!), and Amour even made us have a competition. We stopped for some delicious freshly cut fruit and the best part of the whole tour was for our daughter to be able to plant her own mangrove on Amour's United nations plantation. Amour, your knowledge, attention to detail and hospitality were incredible. What a fantastic experience! Thank you.
We had the perfect day with Amore and team starting with a boat ride to a beautiful sandbank where we kayaked in a transparent kayak over the coral, we then went to another island snorkelling and back to the sandbank for lunch which was delicious and very special! We then kayaked through the mangroves which was a lovely way to finish the day!
It is great adventure during which you can find out a lot about mangroves and Zanzibar nature and culture. Service and equipment is very professional. Our guide, Abdallah, was very friendly and knowledgeable.
The tour all in all was ok. The guide gave lots of explanations and the food was good. But what I didn't like was that we had to drive on some bad roads with our own rental car to the starting point after picking up the guide. There were some misunderstandings regarding the costs and payment. And we didn't go through a big mangrove forest like I see in the other reviews/ pictures (this was a little disappointing)
We chose to do this activity, and we really enjoyed it. Abdallah is a fantastic guide, very sensitive to the environment. He is always willing to help and answers all our questions with joy. We learned a lot about the mangroves and the island in general. The place is preserved from tourism. I highly recommend it!
