Hands-On Cava Workshop Offers Taste of Catalonia’s Sparkling Wine Heritage

An immersive “Make Your Own Cava” workshop is inviting visitors to explore the rich traditions of Catalonia’s sparkling wine culture in a hands-on, two-hour experience. Set within a charming historic farmhouse, the activity blends education, craftsmanship and tasting, offering guests a closer look at one of Spain’s most celebrated wines.

The experience begins with a guided tour of the cellar, where participants sample a curated selection of premium cavas. Along the way, hosts explain the history, production methods and sustainability practices that define the region’s winemaking heritage, giving visitors a deeper appreciation of the craft behind each bottle.

The workshop then moves into the elaboration room, where guests take part in the winemaking process themselves. Under expert supervision, participants disgorge, cork and label their own personalized bottle of cava, gaining practical insight into the precision and tradition involved in sparkling wine production.

Designed for both wine enthusiasts and curious travelers, the experience offers a unique connection to Catalonia’s cultural identity. Each guest leaves not only with a custom-made bottle of cava, but also with a personal story rooted in the region’s enduring winemaking legacy.

This was the first of several cava tours on our trip, and it absolutely stood out as the most unique experience. Martí was an incredible guide! He was knowledgeable, humorous, and down to earth. He made us feel completely comfortable and brought an educational yet fun energy to the entire tour. We loved exploring the cellar and learning about the cava-making process and what makes this craft so special to the region. But the real highlight was the hands-on disgorge and corking workshop. We got suited up and getting to bottle our own cava was such a memorable experience! It’s one thing to learn about a winery’s history and techniques, but being at a smaller local producer and actually participating in the process made this tour exceptional. Martí was also incredibly communicative and accommodating leading up to our visit, and very flexible with our timeframe, which we really appreciated. And as a delightful surprise, they also brew fantastic beer, I especially loved their sparkling porter! Highly, highly recommended. We’ll definitely visit again the next time we’re in the area. Thank you Martí!

Great visit here. We booked a experience to craft our own cava and do not regret. It was fun, interesting and we could taste different kinds of cava while learning about it. The cavas tasted great and the activity was great. You feel that they love what they do there. Santiago our guide explained all detailed and well and did not left any question unanswered. Highly recommended 💯.
