Wine Tasting in Manarola

Your journey begins in the picturesque center of Manarola, where you’ll stroll along the main road leading to the harbor. As you walk, take in the stunning sight of the vibrant, colorful houses that define the charm of the Cinque Terre, while fishing boats are parked along the street, adding to the authentic atmosphere. From here, you'll make your way up to the cemetery, situated in a spectacular location offering breathtaking views of the village below. From this vantage point, you can truly appreciate the beauty of Manarola and even catch a glimpse of the nearby village of Corniglia.

Continuing on, you’ll walk along an ancient footpath surrounded by lush gardens, leading you to Alessandro’s vineyards. As you wander through the vines, Alessandro will share his expertise, teaching you to identify the different grape varieties grown in the region, as well as the traditional methods of pruning and grape cultivation that have been passed down through generations.

The path then leads you past the historic Church of San Lorenzo, before you arrive at Alessandro's wine cellar. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to taste his DOC-approved Cinque Terre white wine, carefully paired with typical Ligurian focaccia, allowing you to savor the true flavors of the region.

Throughout the tour, you’ll learn not only about the local winemaking traditions but also about the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of Manarola. Alessandro is a proud member of the Foundation Manarola Cinque Terre, established in 2014 to safeguard the village's rich history. A portion of the proceeds from this tour is donated to support the Foundation's vital work, ensuring that the beauty and traditions of Manarola continue to be protected for generations to come.
